A former Afghan interpreter who served with the U.S. Marines in his home country has earned the title of Marine.

Well done Marine.

BBC World News Afghanistan

I ditched mainstream news as well as CNN & MSNBC.

Yesterday they did a heartbreaking story on women under Taliban control. And what has happened since the pullout.

Today they did a program on Ukraine.

They are doing some good programs that others won’t touch .

"VA Surpasses Goal for Housing Homeless Vets in 2022"

The Department of Veterans Affairs found housing for 40,401 homeless veterans last year, surpassing its goal of 38,000 for 2022.

The department has not yet set a new benchmark for how many veterans it will find homes for in 2023, officials told reporters in a briefing Wednesday. But it is taking a victory lap on exceeding its 2022 goal and expressing confidence that it is making progress in the fight against veteran homelessness.

Source: CNN

CNN) Several people were arrested Saturday evening in downtown Atlanta during protests that came in response to a proposed police training facility and the fatal police shooting of an activist earlier in the week.

Atlanta Police Sgt. Jarius Daugherty told CNN "several arrests" were made after the demonstrations led to property damage, but did not provide an exact number of the people arrested or what property was damaged.

The protests come in response to a planned $90 million, 85-acre law enforcement training facility -- dubbed "Cop City" by its opponents -- and just days after the police killing of a 26-year-old activist near the site of the training center.

PARIS — An attacker wounded six people in an unprovoked blade attack in Paris' busy Gare du Nord train station Wednesday morning before being shot and wounded by police, France's interior minister said, praising the swift intervention of police for helping prevent any fatalities.

The suspect attacked several people, including a police officer, with a "bladed weapon" during the morning rush hour, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told reporters at the scene, flanked by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.

Good job by the police. Hope everyone recovers

UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman is dead after police said she was attacked by a man wielding a machete inside a Dollar Tree store in Upper Sandusky on Sunday.

Police said Upper Sandusky officers responded to the store on East Wyandot Avenue at approximately 4:25 p.m. for a report of a man waving a machete, but the suspect, later identified as Bethel M. Bekele, 27, had fled the store by the time officers arrived.

Y’all be careful out there.

Operation Just Cause

My buddy spent 4 years with one of the battalion’s that participated in the combat jump. He left 4 months before it.

December 1989, the "All-Americans," as part of Operation JUST CAUSE, conducted their first combat jump since World War II onto Torrijos International Airport, Panama. The paratroopers' goal was to oust a ruthless dictator and restore the duly-elected government to power in Panama.
