NY-2nd CD

Dems are running a really impressive candidate to replace the retiring Peter King in New York's 2nd Congressional District. It would be great to flip this seat blue in November.

Background Info on the Chinese Billionaire...

who owns the yacht Bannon was a guest on.

He’s a Chinese billionaire and a member of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago. Is he also a communist spy?

From the article:

He is currently seeking political asylum in the United States, where he reportedly avoided deportation by the Trump administration after the president learned Guo was a member of Mar-a-Lago.

Trump's Business Partners Allegedly Involved In Human Trafficking, Probable Money Laundering

A new report from the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence offers a damning portrait of the people Donald Trump chose as his partners for potential projects in Russia. They include individuals with alleged connections to the mob, to Vladimir Putin and to human trafficking.

The group would comprise an extraordinary list of associates for any international businessman, let alone for the sitting president of the United States.

Trump Organization representatives did not respond to requests for comment. In 2016, Trump Organization lawyer Alan Garten insisted that the business conducts thorough due diligence on its outside partners. “We do extensive vetting on everyone we do business with,” he told Forbes at the time. “We do background checks on an international level. We do background checks on a local level. We check every available database commonly used. We use outside experts who specialize in this area. And that’s in addition to looking at the deal itself. So extensive vetting goes on.”

Doesn’t seem like it. Here are the details on the people connecting Trump to Russia.

The Resistance Strikes Back

Prosecutors looking to reinstate indictment against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort for mortgage fraud

The Manhattan District Attorney's office fought Thursday to reinstate the indictment against President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to court documents filed in the case.

Manafort had been charged in New York for allegedly conducting a yearlong residential mortgage fraud scheme before the case was dismissed in December due to its similarity to earlier federal charges.

The Manhattan DA's office argued, according to court filings, that the state's double jeopardy law contains an exception that would allow the case to proceed.

Just 6 of Trump's top donors in 2016 and 2018 have given to his reelection

The White House is worried that just 6 of Trump's top donors in 2016 and 2018 have given to his reelection bid, according to a new report

President Donald Trump is failing to attract support from most of the mega-donors who bankrolled his 2016 campaign and continued to give to him in 2018, The New York Times reported.

Just six of the top 38 donors to Trump-aligned super PACs over the past two cycles have donated to America First, the super PAC created to gather all the biggest donations to Trump's 2020 campaign, The Times reported.

Sources told The Times that many donors were concerned about the president's reelection chances and that some were redirecting their money to groups working to secure the Republican Senate majority, which is increasingly in play.

Sheldon and Miriam Adelson are among the most prominent examples. The Adelsons gave $20 million to Trump in 2016 and $10 million in 2018. They haven't sent any cash to the president this cycle — reportedly angering him — but they donated $25 million this year to a PAC supporting Senate Republicans. The Times noted that Sheldon Adelson had expressed concerns about publicly supporting Trump's anti-China rhetoric given the casino magnate's major business interests in Asia.

They Caught The Guy

An African American woman posted a video on Twitter last week of a man yelling racial slurs at her from his car in Naples, FL. She asked for help in identifying him. Well, he was just arrested!

"An East Naples man who allegedly yelled racist insults to a woman that were recorded on video was charged Saturday.

Jeffrey Adam Rouse, 40, led deputies on a chase Friday, verbally threatened someone and defaced two political signs, according to a Collier County Sheriff's Office Facebook post.

On Friday evening, Rouse led deputies on a pursuit after radar detected him driving more than 100 mph at Immokalee Road and U.S. 41, the Sheriff's Office stated. Deputies terminated the pursuit for the safety of other drivers in the area and Rouse went to his home, the post states.

Deputies took him into custody Saturday morning at his residence."
