Source: Newsweek

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that China’s President Xi Jinping first got him thinking about introducing the death penalty for drugs dealers.

“We catch a drug dealer, death penalty. That’s it,” Trump told the crowd.

The DEA says most of the fentanyl comes from China, with traffickers sending the product through the mail directly to customers in the U.S. or supplying Mexican cartels, which cut the fentanyl into heroin.

Add that to the list of things of which *45 is ignorant.
Personally, I believe China is exacting vengeance for the Opium Wars.

This leak originated with Assange and Hannity. Conspiracy.

I am a Republican. Why is my party gaslighting America?

Riddle me this: If Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have smoking gun evidence of a deep-state conspiracy that threatens American democracy itself, wouldn’t they be doing more than playing silly hashtag games, such as #ReleasetheMemo?

My question: If Congress has evidence of a Russian conspiracy that threatens our democracy, wouldn’t they be doing more than playing games?

Apparently the answer to both questions is “No”.

Michelangelo had an answer.

I don't say I would never vote for a Republican.

I cast my first Presidential ballot as a teenaged New Yorker against Jimmy Carter because I did not believe in the New South. I was wrong.

Nonetheless, the doctrine of "No permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests" seems wise in the long run. The Compromise of 1877 was collusion among Democrats and Republicans that spawned Jim Crow and stultified America for a century.

However, given current political demographics (Almost 70% of Americans identify as white and half of those give Trump his 35% approval rating) I can foresee no realignment.

Maybe he should take a knee in silent protest.

Pardon proof operation.

"If committees selectively leak parts of interviews or send me letters through the media, or turn Jared Kushner's very clear email that there should be no contacts with anyone in a foreign country into what they call a missing document, then they are undermining their own credibility," Lowell said.

Kushner’s lawyer defends his rolling disclosure tactic.

Furthermore, slavery was bad because black lives matter.

The entirety of American History is a compromise of its fundamental principles, “We hold these truths to be self evident ... blah, blah.

The Revolution and the Civil War can be viewed as Slavery War I and Slavery War II. In both rebellions, secession was motivated by the fear of abolition in the near future. Somerset vs. Stewart, decided in 1772 London, portended the abolition of slavery in the Empire. Emancipation was considered much more oppressive and costly than taxation without representation, search and seizure or any of the other more commonly cited causes of the Revolution.

The road to American redemption has always been the struggle to create a more perfect union. This is what the protest is about - not the flag, but the republic for which it stands.
