Attention Earth People-Rethugs want credit for being kind

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/03/31/former-rnc-chair-ed-gillespie-republicans-are-compassionate-for-allowing-lgbt-hospital-visitation/

snip:

"The former chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) said on Sunday that the Republican Party has been “cast in the negative” by the media for opposing marriage equality, but the focus should be on how the party is compassionate for allowing LGBT people hospital visitation rights."

How very humane of them.

Oligarchy inside democracy--how it works

http://my.firedoglake.com/masaccio/2013/03/29/oligarchy-exists-inside-our-democracy/

snip:
"It’s only recently that the Oligarchy has lost interest in the bargain about following the rules. Entire industries are off limits for prosecution. Rules are randomly changed to favor the interests of the rich. And worst of all, democracy itself isn’t working. We used to operate under some general form of majority rule. That is not the case in either house. In the House, under the Hastert Rule, the Speaker, John Boehner, will not present a bill that doesn’t have the support of a majority of his party. That means that a minority of the House can prevent any bill from being heard. That minority comes from small states in the most conservative parts of the country."

Excellent article in general about the ruling rich.

Tea Party Scary Movie

A movie that would be endorsed by Leni Riefenstahl:

Call it "Triumph of the Swill"

or "Red does it every Dawn" on you that you're a bunch of brainless zombies

Clip is good for a laugh, though. Thanks for the laughs, teabaggery movie makers.

Can't Speak Teabaggery

Negotiating with the emissaries of the Tea Bag Nation is impossible because of a automatic translation issue.

For example:

we say: reasonable gun laws, teabaggers hear steal my manhood

we say: health care for all, teabaggers hear steal my freedom not to be insured

we say: President Obama takes less vacation time than Shrub, teabaggers hear lazy black man

we say: the Iraq War was a gigantic fraud, teabaggers hear you hate my yellow ribboned escalade

we say: marriage equality, teabaggers hear "those people" ain't got no rights

I believe it is a problem only that imminent linguist Dr. Suess could solve--import some Sneetches.

Now that name fits

Busted for stealing cashews.

Earlier, waved a gun during a campaign commerical.

Definition: Gun Nut.

Don't Let Bigotry and Prejudice Percolate

Some the reasonings i've read on the two cases before the SCOTUS uttered by the Justices appears to along the line of not wanting to get ahead of the country by issuing a wide ranging ruling.

So Bigotry needs to percolate longer so the teabaggers and red Staters catch up.

Don't think so.

It would be a true travesty of justice to let the worst in some people, keep some of the best people achieve full and equal opportunity in society.

No weapon for Mark Kelly

Apparently there is a new codicil to the background check on weapons that disqualifies you from purchasing a weapon if the purchase is based on "political intent."

snip:

"In a statement posted to Facebook, Diamondback Police Supply owner Doug MacKinlay said that he was blocking the former astronaut’s Second Amendment right because he questioned the political “intent” behind the purchase."

Astronauts qualified to fly shuttles, not own weapons.

Wonder if Mr. NRA will come to his defense. Doubtful.

Battle Cry of the Red Stater

"It's your own fault!"

Can't find a job after getting layed off--you didn't look hard enough.

Child has health condition that will prevent them from ever getting health insurance--get those health savings accounts going early parents.

Car insurance shorts you on your totaled, payed off car after drunk driver hits you--you should have had better insurance.

Personal responsibility while walking the carney midway--scammers aren't the problem, you should know the scams in advance. That is the United States today.

59 dollar raise

Snip:
Incomes for the bottom 90 percent of Americans only grew by $59 on average between 1966 and 2011 (when you adjust those incomes for inflation), according to an analysis by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston for Tax Analysts. During the same period, the average income for the top 10 percent of Americans rose by $116,071, Johnston found. To put that into perspective: if you say the $59 boost is equivalent to one inch, then the incomes of the top 10 percent of Americans rose by 168 feet, Johnston explained to Alternet last week.

Crooked wheel, thumb on the scale, flim-flamming, rigged game.

Rigged, obscene drug company profits

The SCOTUS is examining a case today to whether it is illegal for major drug companies to pay off companies not to sell generics of their best selling drugs.

NOOOO anti-trust violation there.

What a rigged system designed for the profits of the very few sacrificing the health of the public along the way.
