About Me

A child of the 60\\\'s, a lifelong Democrat and a sense that our elected officials , especially the President, set the tone of civility in our great country. I worked on JFK\\\'s campaign and on Barack Obama\\\'s (twice). High School Class of 1963 I was moved by MLK\\\'s march on Washington, and to see that go full circle and have Mr. Obama for President is quite gratifying. When I see remnants of the John Birch society still quite active in the Tea Party it strengthens my beliefs and support of the Democratic Party.

Don't It Make My Red State Blue--------I wonder if she's a Dem

enjoy

I am certain some cowboys would vote Dem if she told 'em to

from Green Emerald on this site----she says it better than I

"She is not right of center. She fights for human rights including gays, women, minorities. She supports social programs that assist those in need, she opposes the draconian abortion bills the republicans try to pass, she sponsored an emergency pill for rape victims, and tighter laws for gun control, she disagreed with the Bush tax cuts (that Obama continued), used tax dollars to update infrastructure, was for a jobs bill, voted to limit credit card charges and fees, voted to add sexual orientation to hate crimes bill, reintroduced the equal pay amendment, she supports rolling back the bush era corporation giveaways, voted to repeal tax subsidies for companies who offshore....

I could go on...and you need to do your home work before you continue the denigration of a great leader--just like the republicans. If anyone is republican lite--it is you. "

Obamacare opponents have misrepresented Consumer Reports' position

I see your point

who do you have as a candidate------

it is not time to tear down ---it is time to build---tell us who is campaign ready--funded and has an election team in place----otherwise we might suffer some horrible appointments to the Supreme Court

A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

How much does Christie's opponent weigh----her name is BARBARA BUONO, Democrat--it's about GENDER

Would men make fun of her if the weight amounts were reversed?-----well I am not sizeist----but I guess we could make a case against Republican men demeaning women because of their looks

The Democratic challenger running against Chris Christie says she isn’t making the Republican’s weight a campaign issue, yet released a letter from her doctor on Tuesday revealing that she only weighs 125 pounds.

“She has never smoked cigarettes,” Dr. Jeffery L. Carson wrote of state Sen. Barbara Buono. “Her diet is excellent. Senator Buono runs regularly and is physically fit.”

Carson’s letter, dated Tuesday, was published on the website PolitickerNJ.com. He said she weights 124.6 pounds.

Both Christie and Buono said during a debate last week that they would release medical records.

“In summary, Senator Buono is in excellent health and has no significant medical problems,” Carson wrote. “She is physically able to serve as governor of the state of New Jersey.”

Christie has acknowledged that he’s heavier than he’d like. He had lap band weight loss surgery earlier this year.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews asked Buono in April if she would run make Christie’s weight a campaign issue. “Does that work in Jersey?” he asked. “Taking on the guy’s weight?”

“I’m going to run a campaign on issues,” she responded.

But last month, Buono appeared to use the “weight-card” against the New Jersey governor when she said, “Now I don’t know about you, but seeing Chris Christie frolicking on the beach is not going to drive me to go the shore.”

HRC looks so tired in her appearance with Terry McAuliffe----NOT

FALLS CHURCH, Va. -- FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton has joined Democrat Terry McAuliffe on the campaign trail, telling Virginia voters the nation is looking for a return to "common sense and common ground."

Hillary Clinton--What makes me think the way I do about HRC

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504803_162-57565887-10391709/hillarys-first-joint-interview-next-to-bill-in-92/

"I'm not sitting here some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette," Hillary famously told Steve Kroft in that 1992 interview. "I'm sitting here because I love him and I respect him."

When I saw the way she handled Steve Kroft I knew this was a rare woman in politics. Up until then most women were not allowed to comment----or would not sit for the interview----I said to myself there is someone who has the guts to stand up to the bullshit the press can conjure up against some of my favorites. I know she had to do a little damage control with Tammy Wynette and the Country Western boys a few weeks later -----and she did------that impressed me as well-----here was a woman that can go in any arena and take on all comers.

When the Monica Lewinsky thing was big and a lot of people thought that HRC would divorce Bill--or leave him-----I did not------I said hey, Hillary is riding Air Force One if she stays-----does anyone on DU thing she would be riding coach.

HRC will be our next President, I love Elizabeth Warren --and she would be great as President----but guess what ---we can't all go to Disneyland! And to you Rush Limbaugh--if you have snuck on DU with a nom de plume I will out you!

Men Got Us Into The Shutdown, Women Got Us Out

It's gender stupid----in 2014 and 2016

Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) said on Wednesday afternoon that their female colleagues can take most of the credit for driving the compromise that is expected to temporarily reopen the U.S. government and raise the debt ceiling before Thursday's deadline.

"Leadership, I must fully admit, was provided primarily from women in the Senate," McCain said after the bipartisan deal was announced.

It's about gender ----It's ALL ABOUT GENDER-------2014 and 2016

the part that was quoting POLITICO

it led me to believe that POLITICO was covering a story live and heard HRC make the statement---in fact it was third party hearsay-----------an Atlanta newspaper quoting a Georgia Republican who claimed to be at the event-------so this is zero clarity on the point-------

Now ---as to the point ---I have no doubt that Hillary could or would say such a thing----I happen to think she is more ruthless than any other political contender on the horizon----I was an Obama supporter from the beginning----but I DO support her now unless there is some other more viable candidate that surfaces
