About Me

A child of the 60\\\'s, a lifelong Democrat and a sense that our elected officials , especially the President, set the tone of civility in our great country. I worked on JFK\\\'s campaign and on Barack Obama\\\'s (twice). High School Class of 1963 I was moved by MLK\\\'s march on Washington, and to see that go full circle and have Mr. Obama for President is quite gratifying. When I see remnants of the John Birch society still quite active in the Tea Party it strengthens my beliefs and support of the Democratic Party.

Duck Dynasty look at Sherman's March to the Sea

Robertson thinks the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor because they didn't believe in Jesus. "All you have to do is look at any society where there is no Jesus. Iíll give you four: Nazis, no Jesus. Look at their record. Uh, Shintos? They started this thing in Pearl Harbor. Any Jesus among them? None. Communists? None. Islamists? Zero. Thatís eighty years of ideologies that have popped up where no Jesus was allowed among those four groups. Just look at the records as far as murder goes among those four groups."

Although most Southerners are experts in history , he seems to be forgetting that William Tecumseh Sherman was a God fearing religious man that burned a swath through Georgia that is considered "scorched earth". The Civil War was started in South Carolina and was well supported by Christians both North and South.

The 113th Congress ---A Hall of Shame

They have voted 46 times to repeal Obamacare---an effort that has no way of winning in the Senate, and the President has assured them he will veto it if it ever reaches his desk

This Congress' record has nothing whatsoever to do with job creation-(remember jobs, jobs, jobs) or the country's economic well-being (a shutdown that cost the country $2 billion (from fiscal conservatives) and disturbed the full faith and credit of the US and gained them nothing but the loss of their brand image and a Governorship in Virginia. What they HAVE been about is bashing homosexuals, harassing illegal immigrants, crusading against abortion, invading a woman's private parts, denying climate change, flirting with birthers (except about Ted Cruz), opposing gun control, and revising science to fit a particular religious model. What bills have they passed? I can not find one bill of consequence in my review of the Congressional Record. I don't see one act of bravery on any of their parts. All that I can see is their continual reference to the Hasterd Rule, which even Dennis Hasterd the supposed namesake, denies that it is his. This is a "do nothing" congress that will go down in history as one that is extremely racist, hateful and obstructionist. The legacy they leave for their children and grandchildren is one of pure disgrace.

The Senate Conservative Fund-The Circular Firing Squad goes Nuclear

A lot of this is from the Rachel Maddow show---sorry no link on her

Right now this extreme conservative group is running ads to unseat 7 Republican incumbent US Senators by airing negative ads and supporting Tea party candidates---one of the most outlandish is their trying to unseat Thad Cochran (R-MS) who is in a safe district for his reelection

the others are Johnny Isakson, GA---Lamar Alexander, TN---Jeff Flake, AZ--Linsey Graham, SC---Richard Burr, NC---and the BIG Kahuna ---Good Ol Senator GRIDLOCK McConnell from Kentucky-----evidently their only crime is that they have not hated Obama enough------The certified nutjob they are supporting in Mississippi is Chris McDaniel---------here's a good site to watch---giving the Grand Old Party a severe whipping---

I hope they spend their whole war chest on these losers

I want Chrystal Gayle to change the song to

Don't It Make My Red State Blue--------I wonder if she's a Dem

I am certain some cowboys would vote Dem if she told 'em to

from Green Emerald on this site----she says it better than I

"She is not right of center. She fights for human rights including gays, women, minorities. She supports social programs that assist those in need, she opposes the draconian abortion bills the republicans try to pass, she sponsored an emergency pill for rape victims, and tighter laws for gun control, she disagreed with the Bush tax cuts (that Obama continued), used tax dollars to update infrastructure, was for a jobs bill, voted to limit credit card charges and fees, voted to add sexual orientation to hate crimes bill, reintroduced the equal pay amendment, she supports rolling back the bush era corporation giveaways, voted to repeal tax subsidies for companies who offshore....

I could go on...and you need to do your home work before you continue the denigration of a great leader--just like the republicans. If anyone is republican lite--it is you. "

Obamacare opponents have misrepresented Consumer Reports' position

HealthCare.gov problems do not negate benefits of new health law

I see your point

who do you have as a candidate------

it is not time to tear down ---it is time to build---tell us who is campaign ready--funded and has an election team in place----otherwise we might suffer some horrible appointments to the Supreme Court

A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
