JoeOtterbein's JournalJill Stein cost Hillary dearly in 2016. Democrats are still writing off her successor.
The Green Party is set to nominate Howie Hawkins, a Democratic socialist making an explicit play for disaffected Bernie voters.

ill Stein still haunts Hillary Clintons campaign team.
Oh woof. I cant bear to talk about that, said former communications director Jennifer Palmieri.
For good reason: Had voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin cast their ballots for Clinton rather than the Green Partys Stein, Clinton would be president.
Now, with the Green Party set to elevate its presumptive nominee Howie Hawkins, a longtime labor activist keen on attracting disillusioned Bernie Sanders voters and calling for a #DemExit many Democrats are unfazed. Not to worry, they say: Trump will be a sufficiently mobilizing force for Democrats this time around.

Progressive groups boost spending against Engel
The left sees the New York primary as one of its last opportunities to oust a Democratic incumbent this year.

Two top progressive groups are ramping up their spending on a super PAC to elect Jamaal Bowman in the closely watched congressional race in New Yorks 16th District.
Justice Democrats and the Working Families Party, which previously announced that they would spend a half-million dollars on TV ads and phone canvassing to back Bowman, told POLITICO they are putting down another $250,000-plus in the days before the June 23 primary.
Their spike in funding comes as Bowman, who is challenging longtime Democratic incumbent Rep. Eliot Engel, is gaining momentum. In recent weeks, Bowman has won endorsements from Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The pro-Bowman super PAC will be airing a new TV ad on Friday featuring Jumaane Williams, New York Citys public advocate, who has thrown his weight behind Bowman. In the spot, Williams is sitting in a park alongside a diverse group of young people.

New U.S. broadcasting chief fires agency heads
Source: Politico
WASHINGTON The new chief of U.S.-funded international broadcasting on Wednesday fired the heads of at least three outlets he oversees and replaced their boards with allies, in a move likely to raise fears that he intends to turn the Voice of America and its sister outlets into Trump administration propaganda machines.
U.S. Agency for Global Media CEO Michael Pack informed those he dismissed in email notices sent late Wednesday just hours after he had sought to play down those concerns in an email to staff saying he is committed to ensuring the independence of the broadcasters who are charged with delivering independent news and information to audiences around the world.
Two congressional aides said that among those removed from their positions were the head of Radio Free Asia, Bay Fang, the head of Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe, Jamie Fly, and the head of the Middle East Broadcasting Network, Alberto Fernandez. The director and deputy director of the Voice of America, Amanda Bennett and Sandy Sugawara, had resigned from their positions on Monday.
Pack, a conservative filmmaker and one-time associate of President Donald Trumps former political adviser Steve Bannon, said in a notices to those fired that he was taking the step consistent with his authority as the new CEO of the overall agency. It gave no reason for his decisions.

Bolton did not want Trump impeached because they are both Republicans
Just a little FYI to all those on my TV who pretend they don't know.
If it was a Democratic President, Trump would have not only been impeached, he would have be non-persona for ever on my TV.
End of, televised or not, story.
Judge denies York DA's motion to drop case against ex-cop who shot man in leg
Source: The York Dispatch (PA)
A York County judge has denied District Attorney Dave Sunday's motion to drop the simple assault case against former Southwestern Regional police officer Stu Harrison, who shot a handcuffed man sitting in the back of a police cruiser.
Common Pleas Judge Maria Musti Cook noted during Monday's hearing that she "had a number of concerns" about the prosecution's motion to nol pros, meaning dismiss, the charge against Harrison.
Cases are generally nol prossed because the evidence in them doesn't support convictions, she noted.
"We did not find this to be a case of insufficient evidence," Cook said. "We find that the purpose of nol pros has not been met."

Why We White People Expect to Comfortable at All Times
Of course we expect it. I'm watching CNN and some white dude named "Wolf" is very worried about a building named after a white woman whose name is more known by Americans than than any black woman I know.
Seems Mr. Wolf is worried not only about that building, but also the gas station across the street from the corporate building named after a supposed white child/woman?
Mr. Wolf said, "it's a dangerous situation."
Of course it is. Although , the reporter says no humans where hurt.
Once I pointed out to an ex-cop I knew from grades 1-11 on a FB comment to his post that the flag he was saying we needed to protect on was, and has been, the flag of the treasonous since the Civil War.
First, his wife replied to me by tagging her husband with a comment that said I "did not understand history."
Of course he promptly "un-friended" me.
My point is, these people will not accept a bit of dis-comfort in their lives to accept the history of the nation and the people they swear to protect.
Not a bit. Not even a burger joint.

Trump's latest attempt to tag Biden as a radical flops
Progressives did not revolt after the Democratic nominee rejected the "defund the police" movement.

Joe Biden declared he opposed a growing movement on the left to defund police departments.
President Donald Trump and Republicans are determined to make him own it anyway.
Trump lit into Biden on Twitter, painting him as the leader of the radical left and responsible for a movement that celebrates anarchy, coddles antifa and demonizes law enforcement.
But the swiftness and clarity of Biden's dismissal, which came as CBS, ABCs The View and other media outlets were peppering Democratic politicians with questions about defunding the police, suggests Biden's team wanted to head off an issue it saw as politically poisonous.

Samuel L. Jackson Commends Massive Protests on CNN: 'Starting the Labor Pains of This Change That Is
By Reed RichardsonJun 8th, 2020, 10:20 pm
Actor and civil right activist Samuel L. Jackson commended the massive, nationwide Black Lives Matter protests during a discussion on CNNs Anderson Cooper 360, calling it the labor pains of systemic change.
During Coopers Monday night show, the 71-year-old Jackson, who participated in civil rights protests while a student at Morehouse College in the late 1960s, urged the protestors out in the streets to have patience and seek political allies
Im energized watching them do it. I wish I wasnt in this high risk area of Covid or I would be out there with them joining in. If I had the energy to be out there, Jackson said. But I love the way it looks. It is a very different view from the one I had in the 60s and 70s. The faces are all ethnicity and the youth and energy feels the same. And in my mind it feels like change is about to happen. It is one of those kind of things where the birth of change or birth has labor, now were starting the labor pains of this change thats about to happen. It is almost like the murders that took place that got all of these young people in the streets was the water breaking on Ok, thats enough, the water broke and now were in labor and lets see what the result of this labor will be.
