Oh, olddots, can I relate! Year 50+ here. Yes , it's my "child."

My experience is that it doesn't get better.

When "child" was small, child didn't have enough knowledge or savvy or means to avoid conforming to conventional living.
When schooling was finished, the structure of work and job kept a lot under control.

Now with a diagnosis and disability, little to no structure in adult "child's" life is disabling in and of itself.

Meanwhile, I/parent grows older and, unfortunately, less patient and tolerant.

You're correct - it ain't easy.

There is much to be said for retirement.

May you find your sweet spot.

Uhh ... Let's hope your audience is ignorant

of the fact that Murdoch became a US citizen in 1985.

Agree that his motives are less than pure.

Grace - which is a thanksgiving prayer- will be said in a public place, though not in a manner

to call attention to ourselves.

When I and my family were younger and I kept better hours, I frequently attended Mass on Thanksgiving Day, but not in recent years. - Family is dispersed and some have other priorities.
But those nearby still gather for a family meal; a restaurant with table service is my choice, a I don't like the jumping up and down as people refill, etc. at buffets.

For years I have received Thanksgiving cards to send to distant family from the Glenmary Fathers, a group which serves the unchurched in rural America. They include a prayer card for our own table, and I'll likely use that as our meal blessing.

Keep in mind that the Repubs will have their convention in Cleveland OH,

presumably earlier in the summer than the Dems anticipated date.

A Dem convention in Columbus would be an antidote to that.

And, yes, it's important to that the Dems win Ohio in 2016.

And, no, Kasich will not be the likely Repub. candidate, despite the media talk of late.
The media touts his win by a huge margin; - that wasn't because he is well-loved in Ohio.

It's because the Dem. candidate's campaign collapsed pitifully during the summer, and he - Ed FitzGerald- took down the entire Dem. slate, which included some good people.

Hail Columbus (OH).

Thank goodness Birmingham AL and Phoenix have been eliminated.
