No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalI realize those instances do sting for girls, as happened
between my own high IQ girl and boy.
I also had an average IQ girl and boy, and all four figured out their place and status in the pack, while spouse and I tried to further each one's talent and abilities.
It's not easy, I assure you, and even as they are now adults trying to deal with life, they observe and judge one another and themselves. It never really ends.
Her reasons may have been off, but it's better - far better-
not to compare children within a family.
I believe that, actually, the children is a family figure out their own status and differences on their own.
Best to not have Mom or Dad involved in that, except to love and nurture them all according to their needs.
There are court orders for Bundy to pay for use of the federal lands,
like others who use federal lands for grazing purposes.
Having failed to pay the leasing fee, he is ordered to remove his cattle from the land.
It's not unusual for someone to believe he/she is in the right, even though he has a court order against him.
I understand his cattle has also decimated the land by over-using (eating) the vegetation.
I agree it's not worth instigating unknown problems against Bundy and his allies
How much difference will it really make in your life?
It really is a personal decision, but, if you're inclined to change your surname, give a little thought to other aspects.
For example, will your father or other family members think it is a rejection of them in some way.
On the other hand, women routinely change their surnames, perhaps into one from another culture.
I loved my Irish surname, but changed it to my spouse's name, which is not as melodic as my original name.
"What's in a name?"
Turkey bacon tastes good to me.
Supposedly it's better for you, and I believe it costs less.
I allot myself one strip per day, and cook it in the microwave, wrapped in a paper towel, so as not to have another skillet to clean.
Much appreciated, wherever you are.
I'm in Ohio & our primary is Tuesday.
I early voted today at the county Board of Elections - Dem ballot, of course.
There was considerable voting activity going on.
I voted today! Ohio Primary Day is Next Tuesday, May 6.
Previous to today, I had never voted at the Board of Elections in my County.
The last 5-10 years I have mostly voted absentee; before that at my precinct, which used to be just up the block from my home.
Initially, I didn't think there was enough to bother with in this years Democratic primary, even though I have always voted in every election that comes along.
I gradually came to realize that there were choices to be made among Dem. candidates and that it was important to vote for the best candidates, even though I live in a very red district and chances of the Dem. winning in the general will be slight.
I believe it's important to support our candidates- those willing to make themselves available to represent their values in public office.
Anyway, the whole process was easy; the ballot was the same one I would have used as an absentee voter.
There were a number of people voting - perhaps they are ones who will be poll workers on Tuesday.
I know I'm speaking to the choir here, but I do encourage all Dems to get out and vote, either as an early voter or at the poll on Tuesday.
You'll feel good that you did. I know I'm glad I voted.
