Bought gas at under $3.00/gallon today! It's been a long time

since I paid so little for a fill-up.

Have to admit I used a bonus $.30/gallon from Kroger shopping . This is in Ohio.
The price without bonus was $3.28+, and I hadn't seen even that low for I don't know how long.
My Kroger bonus came from double bonus points they give for weekend shopping, otherwise I don't rack up that many points in a month.

Yes, it does feel good, though realistically, the savings is no big deal and I blow that amount on mindless purchases regularly.
Old habits of frugality are hard to lose.

Are you aware that a film about Miles Davis is being made

as we speak?
Much of the filming was done in Cincinnati in the last few weeks.
As I recall, it will not be a full-fledged biography, but a film that depicts a slice of his life.
I don't recall the details, but perhaps Google will tell you more.

I was a fan of Miles Davis back to the mid-1950's. - Loved "Blue Again."
Think I'll pull it up on Youtube.
Thanks

Sometimes we have to actively seek out the antidotes -

Music helps, especially that which we can sing along with.

Years ago I was active in a lay group called Recovery Inc.
One of their mottos was "Feelings are not facts."
I interpret that to mean - your or my feelings re "ugly world" is not necessarily objectively true.
We can change our feelings even though the objective situations - Palestinian children, dog torturer-killer- are factual.

I don't mean to sound like what you're feeling is not painful. It certainly is and it's very difficult at times to get past the hurt.
You sound as though you haven't lost hope, and that's what most important.

Try "Tomorrow" from "Annie", and belt it out.

Best wishes.

We need witnesses who record/film these proceedings.

These "experiments" need to be shown for what they are.
Let the world decide if they are peaceful.

I've found that you can send private messages to people that

haven't friended you on facebook. That gives you a little more space to get out your message, though you have to do each one individually. -You can introduce yourself in the first sentence.
It takes more time, but can be done in hours that are not productive otherwise, i.e., nighttime, etc.
They may be glad to hear from you.
Actually, that is less expensive than mailing.

Those candidates are very lucky to have you on their side, and you're doing good work.

We all know that each vote counts.

It's sort of silly, but I still include toothpaste and a toothbrush in my

(adult) kids Christmas and birthday bags. They likely think it's one just of my idiosyncrasies and go along with it.

There are many toothpaste and toothbrush sales where Colgate and sometimes Crest can be bought for ca $1.00/tube.
I just picked up four Colgate toothbrushes today @ $1. each. I throw them out whenever I get a cold or throat or sinus infection, as I believe that's just reinserting the germs back into the mouth.

Two of my kids had braces and the orthodontist insisted on pulling out four of their teeth, as their mouth was too crowded. I really hated their having perfectly good teeth pulled, but that's how it had to be handled. One has since had more pulled because of cavities (too much soda, I believe) and fell and broke her front teeth as well. Luckily, a good dentist was able to save the little that was left and rebuilt on it.

It's a good feeling to have all one's affairs in order,

rather than just the idea in one's head.
