About Me

Always a Democrat. I can't understand conservatives. I try to understand them, but I can't. They don't make sense. Our country has gone so far right since 1981. I was just an average American who took many Democratic values for granted when Reagan was elected. It was like the rug was pulled out from under our society. Reagan ruined our country.

Low information:

Most voters aren't paying attention, but we are.

"About half say Donald Trump's presidential transition is as organized or more organized than previous administrations, whereas about one in three describe it as less organized than past transitions,' said Dropp, though he noted that “many of the initial transition picks including Reince Priebus, Steve Bannon and Jeff Sessions are still largely unknown to Americans."

More than half of the respondents had never heard of, or had no opinion, about Trump’s chief of staff Priebus, chief strategist Bannon or Sessions, the Alabama senator who is Trump’s pick for attorney general.

Here we are freaking out about Bannon and Sessions while most voters don't even know who they are.

General Flynn makes me want to vomit - this is what he wrote about Turkey on Nov 8th

Our ally Turkey is in crisis and needs our support

It is fair to say that most Americans don’t know exactly what to make of our ally Turkey these days, as it endures a prolonged political crisis that challenges its long-term stability. The U.S. media is doing a bang-up job of reporting the Erdoğan government’s crackdown on dissidents, but it’s not putting it into perspective.

We must begin with understanding that Turkey is vital to U.S. interests. Turkey is really our strongest ally against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), as well as a source of stability in the region. It provides badly needed cooperation with U.S. military operations. But the Obama administration is keeping Erdoğan’s government at arm’s length — an unwise policy that threatens our long-standing alliance.

The primary bone of contention between the U.S. and Turkey is Fethullah Gülen, a shady Islamic mullah residing in Pennsylvania whom former President Clinton once called his “friend” in a well circulated video.

The article goes on and on about Gülen. I don't like Gülen because of his charter school crap. But the charter schools are the Republicans doing anyway.

David Gergen made a good point on CNN

He said that Comey needs to enlist a bunch of manpower and work on this email stuff 24/7 and come up with some type of answer within 72 hours.

Other commenters noted that based on the wording of Comey's memo to FBI agents, he does not currently have access to the emails:

Yesterday, the investigative team briefed me on their recommendation with respect to seeking access to emails that have recently been found in an unrelated case. Because those emails appear to be pertinent to our investigation, I agreed that we should take appropriate steps to obtain and review them.

Venomous caterpillars shown on our local news - looks like you know who

I couldn't help but laugh when they showed this venomous asp caterpillar on the local news.

"Harmful caterpillars are being seen around San Antonio and south Texas. They are called Asp caterpillars." According to News 4's Facebook page.

Just to throw in more Trump stuff, this thing is also known the Puss Caterpillar.

I know the Trump caterpillar thing is an old meme, but to see this on the local news just before the election was a hoot.

Minnesota Public Radio series - Jacob Wetterling 11 y/o abducted 1989

MPR has an informative podcast series on Jacob Wetterling who was abducted on a rural road in 1989. His body was located on August 31st after 27 years. A local pedophile led investigators to his body.

The podcast goes into what went wrong with the investigation from the start etc. I believe this will be an 8 part series with a new episode each week.

I like this series because it addresses issues of small town resources etc.

I've got bronchitis and for several days, I felt like fainting

Until the meds kicked in, I felt like fainting every time I got up. It was just awful.
I don't know how Hillary even managed to attend the 9/11 event and not totally collapse.

I've got a pretty nasty sudden strain of this stuff. Ironically it came on a few days after 9/11. I kept wondering if I was getting some "weird Hillary sympathy syndrome". My husband dragged me to the doc on Saturday and the doc could hear it in my lungs right away. He thought maybe it was pneumonia but it was just bronchitis. I'm getting the treatment: steroids, antibiotics and albutirol inhaler.

I've had bronchitis and pneumonia many times, but this is the first time that it constantly made me feel like fainting.

Oh well, thought I would share because it shows that Hillary is quite a trooper!!

Blues Brothers (John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd) on Netflix

Didn't see the movie back in the day.

What a fun cool movie. Worth it for all the great musicians and music.
