For us older women that have been through it, its heartbreaking. Ive been active since the 70s with Planned Parenthood. Devoted a lot of time and energy so my daughters would know a more equal society. Im feeling this hard. Give me today to grieve. But tomorrow we fight.

The latest: Ethan Crumbley will be charged as an adult. The charges were announced shortly after officials said a fourth person died as a result of the shooting at Oxford High School in Oakland County, about 30 miles north of Detroit.
Crumbley remains in custody. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said that investigators had not yet determined a motive for the shooting. "The person that's got the most insight and the motive is not talking," Bouchard said Tuesday night.
Crumbley has been charged with one count of terrorism, four counts of murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, Oakland County prosecutor Karen D. McDonald said. He will be arraigned later Wednesday.
Students Hana St. Juliana, 14, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Tate Myre, 16, were confirmed Tuesday to have died in the shooting. Myre died in a patrol car on his way to the hospital, Bouchard said.

I read that authorities are not allowed to question the boy without a parent present.
Police say the 15 year old who killed 3 students and wounded 8 people at Oxford High School used a 9mm Sig Sauer handgun that his father bought on Friday. Truly a Black Friday purchase. The sophomore is not speaking with authorities and his family is hiring an attorney.

PHOENIX Kyle Rittenhouse is not currently an Arizona State University student, the university confirmed Monday.
The 18-year-old, who was recently acquitted by a Wisconsin jury of all charges in his shooting and killing of two men and wounding of a third in the aftermath of Kenosha protests, was taking online classes at ASU, he said during his testimony.
In recent media interviews, he said he wants to study on campus at ASU.
After Rittenhouse said on the witness stand on Nov. 10 that he was a college student at ASU, the university confirmed he enrolled as a non-degree-seeking online student for the session that started in mid-October, although he hadn't gone through the admissions process and wasn't enrolled in the nursing school. But according to the university, hes not a student anymore.
Kyle Rittenhouse, center, walks off the witness stand for a short recess after breaking down during his testimony at his trial at the Kenosha County Courthouse in Kenosha, Wis., on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021.
Our records show that he is not currently enrolled, ASU spokesperson Jay Thorne wrote in an email. There was no action taken by the university.

Four left-leaning student organizations were expected to hold a rally and protest on the Tempe campus Wednesday in support of getting him off campus even though he was an online student and urging ASU to meet other demands including making a statement against white supremacy and further supporting multicultural spaces on campus. Theres also an online petition stating ASU should not let Rittenhouse attend, which had over 6,000 signatures as of Monday evening.

...............................Next semester that opens up, Im going to re-enroll in those classes just so I can finish them up and pursue my career in nursing, he said, adding that while hes been taking classes online, he hopes he can be on campus.
And Rittenhouse told Tucker Carlson on Fox News that there were still things to look into, "but I do intend on going on campus, with the intention of studying nursing, or maybe law, at ASU.
Im hoping I can live a quiet, stress-free life and be free of any intimidation or harassment and just go on with my life as a normal 18-year-old kid attending college, he said.
Im hoping that people go back and understand the facts and be like, watch the trial, watch the prosecutorial misconduct that I believe happened, and realize that I was an innocent 17-year-old who was violently attacked and defended myself, Rittenhouse told Carlson.
Omicron coronavirus variant poses 'very high' global risk, WHO warns

The World Health Organization is warning countries that the omicron coronavirus variant poses very high global risk and is likely to spread internationally.
The likelihood of potential further spread of Omicron at the global level is high, the WHO said Sunday in a preliminary technical brief. It recommended that governments worldwide enhance their ability to sequence coronavirus variants, report any local cases of omicron to the global health body and speed up their vaccination drives.
The newly identified omicron variant has 26 to 32 spike mutations, the WHO brief states, some of which are concerning in that they could make it more transmissible and better able to evade the bodys immune defenses.
Depending on these characteristics, there could be future surges of COVID-19, which could have severe consequences, depending on a number of factors including where surges may take place, the report says. The overall global risk related to [omicron] is assessed as very high. It added that evidence for this assessment contains considerable uncertainty and is subject to change.................................

Gov. Abbott mocked for claiming South African immigrants crossing border illegally
Source: kxan
by: Russell Falcon Updated: Nov 29, 2021 / 09:50 AM CST
AUSTIN (KXAN) Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling President Joe Bidens policies at the border to stop the flow of illegal South African migrants coming into the U.S. The statement comes after the U.S. restricted travel from several southern African countries on Saturday due to concerns of the recently emerged omicron COVID-19 variant.
In a tweet Sunday night, Abbott claimed: Immigrants have recently been apprehended crossing our border illegally from South Africa. Biden is doing nothing to stop immigrants from South Africa entering illegally. Pure politics and hypocrisy.
The statement was confusing to many, as its not clear if Abbott was referring to other U.S. borders or to the Texas-Mexico southern border, which is a frequent talking point of the governor.
Recent stopping of South African migrants at the Texas border hasnt previously been noted.
Its unclear whether Abbott was referring to a 2019 incident when Border Patrol in Del Rio, Texas, stopped over 500 African migrants as they crossed the Rio Grande. Those migrants, however, were not from any southern African countries, but from areas like the Republic of the Congo and Angola.

Merriam-Webster chooses vaccine as the 2021 word of the year

By LEANNE ITALIE 2 hours ago
NEW YORK (AP) With an expanded definition to reflect the times, Merriam-Webster has declared an omnipresent truth as its 2021 word of the year: vaccine.
This was a word that was extremely high in our data every single day in 2021, Peter Sokolowski, Merriam-Websters editor-at-large, told The Associated Press ahead of Mondays announcement.
It really represents two different stories. One is the science story, which is this remarkable speed with which the vaccines were developed. But theres also the debates regarding policy, politics and political affiliation. Its one word that carries these two huge stories, he said.
The selection follows vax as word of the year from the folks who publish the Oxford English Dictionary. And it comes after Merriam-Webster chose pandemic as tops in lookups last year on its online site.
The pandemic was the gun going off and now we have the aftereffects, Sokolowski said........................................

to add labels to vaccine disinformation which you are allowing to be widely spread, and better patrol bands of trolls disseminating it. Disinformation leads to unnecessary hospitalization/strains on our medical system and death.
