During a high-profile meeting at the White House today with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Trump inaccurately described a private memorial in South Africa, the Witkruis Monument, as a "burial site" for white farmers. Referencing a video of the monument, Trump stated, "These are burial sites, over 1000 of white farmers... both sides of the road, you have crosses."

In reality, the Witkruis Monument, located in Limpopo province, is a symbolic memorial, not a cemetery. It features thousands of white-painted metal crosses meant to represent victims of farm attacks—arranged across a private plot but containing no graves. A week ago, Elon Musk – one of the leading purveyors of false claims of “white genocide” in South Africa – tweeted out a clip purportedly showing the graves of hundreds of slain white farmers.

“So many crosses,” Musk noted.

That same clip made it into the video montage that Donald Trump ambushed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with during Wednesday’s meeting at the Oval Office, which the president insisted was “evidence” of mass murders of white Afrikaners in Ramaphosa’s country.

The video, meanwhile, showed white crucifixes lining a South African highway while a row of cars and vehicles drove slowly by. According to Trump, this was essentially a mass graveyard where the families of murdered white farmers could mourn the loss of their loved ones.

“Those are burial sites — over a thousand — of white farmers,” Trump bellowed. “And those cars are lined up to pay love on a Sunday morning. Each one of those white things you see is a cross. And there's approximately a thousand of them. They're all white farmers.”

He even clapped at the end.......

This really was so wonderful to see.

“In recent years, voters in Michigan have overwhelmingly supported ballot initiatives to create a citizen-led independent redistricting process, to guarantee at least nine days of early voting for every statewide election, and to make voting more accessible for every eligible citizen. Today’s action ensures that the will of the voters will stand on these and other issues important to the people of our state,” Benson said.

Proposal 3 of 2018 and Proposal 2 of 2022 both passed with at least 60% of the vote and guaranteed the rights to same-day voter registration, nine days of early voting, absentee voting, among other rights. After voters approved the constitutional amendments, the Legislature passed legislation implementing the measures.
