But after months of searching, only one alien falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen has been caught, charged and convicted in Florida. It turns out he is a Canadian, a man who registered and voted in at least two presidential elections while masquerading as a citizen so he could also buy and “bear arms,” that other right cherished by many Americans.
Josef Sever, 52, won’t be voting in Florida this November, though. He pleaded guilty on Aug. 30 in federal court in Miami to multiple felony charges of falsely attesting to be a U.S. citizen and illegally voting. Three days after the Nov. 6 election, when Americans will choose between giving Barack Obama a second term or sending Republican challenger Mitt Romney to the White House, Mr. Sever will be sentenced.
He faces up to five years in prison before his long-running scam passing as a U.S. citizen ends with deportation back to Canada.

That the effort has only netted Mr. Sever so far has led to some considerable lampooning of Mr. Scott by liberal commentators. Under pressure from the governor, the state’s electoral officials had initially flagged more than 180,000 names (many of them Hispanic-sounding) for checking. All but 2,600 of those initially flagged – some of whom turned out to be not only citizens, but military veterans with service in Afghanistan and Iraq – were quickly determined to be bonafide citizens and restored to the voter rolls.

Discuss this news as you like, as I laugh my A** off with this former Austrian now Canadian citizen gun-toting nut pretended to be an American citizen to vote in 2004 and 2008, (perhaps other elections). I'm SURE he voted for Obama, right???????
The poor man cannot meet his $50,000 bail and will stay in jail awaiting sentencing in November, (when he will NOT be voting nor carrying his gun!)

BOSTON, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the days following the Democratic Convention President Obama has extended his lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney to 16 points (56 percent to 40 percent with 9% undecided) according to a Kimball Political Consulting survey of "likely voters" in Massachusetts.
Senator Scott Brown has less than a 1 point lead over Democrat Elizabeth Warren (46 percent to 45 percent) with 9 percent undecided. The figure is well within the survey's 3.5 percent margin of error.
While pundits often suggest that conventions have little effect on voters these results contradict that assumption," explained Spencer Kimball, a Republican Strategist who conducted the poll. Compared to an earlier survey of the "most likely to vote" population two weeks before the convention Obama gained 5 points while Brown dropped by 5 immediately after the Democratic convention.
"Both Senator Brown and Elizabeth Warren are carrying very high favorability rating at over 50% each. This may be the result of both campaigns' pledge to keep outside money from buying negative ads," said Kimball.
There had been questions going into the Republican Convention regarding whether Senator Brown would take the podium, but citing a conflict with his duty as a reservist with the Army National Guard he did not make a speech. Elizabeth Warren spoke prior to President Bill Clinton on Wednesday night of the Democrat Convention...........
The statewide survey of 756 Massachusetts likely voters was conducted over the weekend of September 7, 8 and 9, 2012, using automated telephone interviews of landline and cell phone users. Help! My Iowa sister and brother-in-law 80 yrs old planning to vote for..
Romney.
They are white middle class, living on a federal employee pension.
They voted for Obama in 2008.
They are economically ignorant, afraid of debt, pay all their bills on time. My sister is a weekly church-going protestant who is socially liberal about issues like gay marriage, and helping out poor folks. I don't understand why they got themselves to this place where Romney appeals to them, but they say it's because of the jobs. Yet they have both been retired for over 15 years!!!
They have not many black folks in the town where they live in a federal state-subsidized elderly residential community, where they THINK they pay for everything in their condo fees, including on-site preventative Medicare health services and vans to the clinics close- by.
They are both health impaired, with major issues staring them in the face. They may live 10-12 years each, or just live two years.
They have two children in their 50's, five grandchildren, two great grand-children, all of whom they love deeply.
They fear the debt on those kids and grand-kids, and great-grand-kids. Yet they probably pay for everything on their federal pension and savings and inheritance they have amassed over their lifetime, probably close to half a million dollars in savings, which they want to pass on to their grand-kids.
Why are they so afraid? Why is Romney offering them any appeal at all?
Can you help me, not living in Iowa, assist them in finding a way to vote for Obama? Do you have any arguments that would appeal to hard-working, now retired independents who voted for Reagan, Clinton, Bush 2 once, Kerry, and Obama? These folks need something to make them think deeply about what they would be doing throwing Iowa to Romney. I know there's wind power and research and corn in Iowa, I have been there 5-6 times in my life, loved that part of the country. But how do we get seniors there to see that Romney will not help them? How do we convince older people in Iowa that Obama is their best bet for the rest of their days?

You see, the budget office didn’t actually evaluate his plan, because there weren’t enough details. Instead, it let Mr. Ryan specify paths for future spending and revenue, while noting — in what sounds to me like a hint of snark — that “No proposals were specified that would generate that path.”
¶ So Mr. Ryan basically told the budget office to assume that his plan would slash the deficit, then claimed the resulting report as vindication of his deficit-slashing claims. Sorry, but that’s the policy equivalent of sneaking into a marathon near the finish line, then claiming victory.
