Harry Reid Rebuked Amy Klobuchar For Mistreatment Of Staff

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s mistreatment of her office staff began more than a decade ago and eventually caused such concerns that in 2015, then-Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) spoke to her privately and told her to change her behavior, multiple sources have confirmed to HuffPost.

Former members of her staff told HuffPost that Klobuchar ground down morale with constant and cruel late-night emails and claimed staff was required to perform personal duties for her — such as washing dishes in her home — in violation of the Senate’s rules and federal law against personal use of the office.

The section that troubled him most was titled “Personal Preferences & Needs at Home.” It described what the body person ought to do “During free time or when waiting in her room (dressing area/bedroom)”:

Hang up clothes she leaves laying on the floor & her chair
Pick up dirty clothes & place in a basket (in the hallway between room & bathroom)
Organize clothing in the closet so she can find items easily (separate into shirts, suits, etc)
Throw away any garbage in the dressing area
Make sure nylons/socks/etc are in drawers are arranged for easy retrieval

Source: Reuters

PHOENIX (Reuters) - An Arizona male nurse has been charged with raping a severely disabled woman at the long-term care facility where he worked, a crime that came to light only after she gave birth, prosecutors said on Wednesday.

Nathan Sutherland, 36, was arrested by investigators who linked him to the case through DNA evidence after the woman, who is in her 20s, unexpectedly gave birth on Dec. 29 at Hacienda Healthcare Skilled Nursing Facility in Phoenix.

North Carolina boy says he hung out with bear after vanishing from his grandmother's backyard.

The North Carolina 3-year-old who vanished from his grandmother’s backyard earlier this week said he spent his two days in the woods with a friendly bear.

Casey Lynn Hathaway was found alive just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, bringing an emergency two-day search for the missing toddler to a close. Rescue workers were following up on a tip about a crying child when they discovered Casey about 40 or 50 yards into a wooded area, tangled up in some brush and calling out for his mother.

The boy had been missing since Tuesday, when he didn’t come inside with the other children he’d been playing with at his grandmothers house in Enrul, located about 100 miles southeast of Raleigh.

My Message to Davos Elites: Act As If Our House Is on Fire. Because It Is.

This amazing young woman recently spoke at the Davos conference about climate change and how it's going to affect her generation. She's wise beyond her years.

"According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), we are less than 12 years away from not being able to undo our mistakes. In that time, unprecedented changes in all aspects of society need to have taken place, including a reduction of our CO2 emissions by at least 50%."

"At places like Davos, people like to tell success stories. But their financial success has come with an unthinkable price tag. And on climate change, we have to acknowledge we have failed. All political movements in their present form have done so, and the media has failed to create broad public awareness."

"Adults keep saying: “We owe it to the young people to give them hope.” But I don’t want your hope. I don’t want you to be hopeful. I want you to panic. I want you to feel the fear I feel every day. And then I want you to act. I want you to act as you would in a crisis. I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is."

Ten Thousand Students March in Berlin as Global #ClimateStrike Movement Rises

An estimated ten thousand students took to the freezing cold streets of Berlin, Germany on Friday as they added their voices to the growing youth-led global uprising that is demanding urgent and far-reaching action to address the world's climate crisis.

Following others using the #ClimateStrike tactic inspired by 16-year-old activist Greta Thunberg of Sweden, the #FridaysforFuture march in Berlin was held as students across Switzerland also held protests on Friday and two days after 35,000 young people marched in Brussels.

"The general problem is not that there's a lack of knowledge, but of action," one student demonstrator told Deutsche Welle. "That's why it's good to go into the streets and express our views."

"I want you to act as you would in a crisis," Thunberg told attendees at Davos and those watching around the world. "I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is."

Times are changing.......

Doesn't shutting down the Federal Government create more of an emergency than not building a wall?

All those TSA workers out on sick leave can't be good for our "War on Terrorism."

"9 hours of 'Executive Time': Trump's unstructured days define his presidency"

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter
President Donald Trump had about three times as much free time planned for last Tuesday as work time, according to his private schedule. The president was slated for more than nine hours of “Executive Time,” a euphemism for the unstructured time Trump spends tweeting, phoning friends and watching television. Official meetings, policy briefings and public appearances — typically the daily work of being president — consumed barely more than three hours of his day.

Addison Russell Suspended 40 Games for Violating MLB Domestic Violence Policy

Source: Bleacher Report

Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell is facing a lengthy suspension that will carry into the 2019 season as a result of Major League Baseball's investigation into domestic abuse allegations.

Reidy-Russell detailed the extent of Russell's physical, emotional and verbal abuse in a post on her personal blog on Sept. 19. She also described a pattern of infidelity by Russell.

"It wasn't sitting right with me," Reidy-Russell said. "I took it upon myself to do what I needed to do regardless what could happen financially. I know that I'm going to be OK. ... I shouldn't have to feel like I can't speak out to help someone else in order to protect someone that hurt me."
