Police: 'Creepy clowns' spotted in Palm Bay

Source: Florida Today

Kelly Reynolds was walking her pit bull at dusk Sunday when her dog began to growl in the direction of the railroad tracks. She turned toward a wooded area and looked, but what she saw startled her.

I saw themtwo clowns just sitting there staring at me, said the 41-year-old Palm Bay resident who was out for her nightly walk near Victoria Park around 7:30 p.m.

I never run but I turned and ran back to my home as fast as I can. These clowns have to go away, said Reynolds, who called Palm Bay police after the incident.

Police issued an alert to surrounding agencies and searched the wooded areas and railroad tracks near U.S. 1. The clowns were not located.

I, for one, welcome our new clown overlords.

I'm not sure what it is, but I'm kind of loving it.

N.J. jazz giant Rudy Van Gelder, who recorded John Coltrane, Miles Davis, dead at 91

Source: NJ.com

Rudy Van Gelder, a renowned recording engineer who captured jazz greats Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane and many others in his parents' Hackensack living room and later in his eponymous Englewood Cliffs studio, died Thursday at the age of 91, according to jazz writer Nate Chinen.

The location and cause of death were not announced.

Van Gelder, a lifelong New Jerseyan, recorded quintessential albums of the genre: John Coltrane's "Blue Train" and "A Love Supreme," Miles Davis' "Workin'" and "Steamin'," Thelonious Monk's "Monk," Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers' "Moanin'," and Lee Morgan's "The Sidewinder."

"I would say they learned how to record jazz together," says T.S. Monk, the son of the jazz legend and an esteemed jazz drummer in his own right. "He really, really got it right. You can list to a Rudy Van Gelder from the 1950s that sounds like it was recorded today."

Sad day. Always loved the sounds he captured. Hancock's "Empyrean Isles" and Coltrane's "Blue Train".

A life well lived, however.

Washington has both a caucus AND a primary?

I just came across this. Is this why Washington hasn't allocated all 101 delegates?
Anyone who knows more about this want to explain it to me?

Vote with your head because your heart is just a muscle that pumps blood.

Thought happens in the brain, use that organ to vote for whomever you shall choose.

Someone sent the militia a bag of dicks!

Oregon militia organizers are getting fed up with all the unhelpful emails and obscene material being dumped off at the occupied wildlife refuge.

However, organizer Jon Ritzheimer is really taking issue with the enormous package (NPI) he just received A huge phallic sex toy and a bag of d*cks that appear to be made out of candy.

Its sad that there are people who would spend this kind of money on this rather than spending it to do good in the world, Ritzheimer said in a Facebook message. Im done living in fear of an oppressing force. Im going to uphold my oath to the Constitution and sleep great at night knowing that I did everything in my power to ensure what our founding fathers did for us will not be lost.

The Oregon militiaman does seem to like the idea of reselling the items on eBay.

I love that this happened on my birthday! Best. Birthday. Ever.
