Kaiju Remedies from "Pacific Rim" Movie

In theaters July 12th.

From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes "Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' Pacific Rim."

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Ohio Democrat warns GOP: ‘Warrior women’ are coming for the unrelenting womb-regulators

State Senator Nina Turner (D-Cleveland) warned Republicans on Thursday that “warrior women” wouldn’t tolerate their attempts to control their bodies.

During a rally at the Ohio Statehouse in protest of new abortion restrictions, Turner noted that Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) had staged an 11-hour filibuster to kill extreme anti-abortion legislation.

“Thank God we have warrior women all over the country standing up for the cause,” Turner said. “And speaking of warrior women, how about Sen. Wendy Davis? She is certainly one of my new sheroes… Women in Texas, all over the country, and right here in Ohio are fed up. This isn’t about one bill or one state, it is about the unrelenting obsession with regulating a woman’s womb. Over 700 bills in 42 states in just the last few months have been introduced to regulate a woman’s constitutionally-guaranteed right to choose.”

The Ohio legislature on Thursday approved a $62 billion budget that contained a number of anti-abortion provisions.

Issa directed Treasury inspector general to ignore IRS treatment of liberal groups

?1340725150
The bombshell IRS audit released in May omitted information about liberal groups at the request of House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA), according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration’s office.

A spokesman for Treasury Inspector General J. Russell George told The Hill on Tuesday that Issa had requested investigators “narrowly focus on tea party organizations.”

The subsequent audit concluded the IRS used “inappropriate criteria” to single out for additional scrutiny tea party groups that applied for tax exempt status. The findings lead almost every politician, including President Barack Obama, to denounce the IRS. Several Republicans suggested the audit indicated the White House had a Nixonian “enemies list.”

Speaking to CNN on Tuesday, Issa said the IRS appeared to have been targeting Obama’s political opponents “perhaps not on his request” but “on his behalf.”

But new documents have revealed that liberal and progressive groups received similar treatment from the IRS. The “inappropriate criteria” used to single out tea party groups — so-called “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) memos — also singled out progressive and “Occupy” groups.

“We did not review the use, disposition, purpose or content of the other BOLOs. That was outside the scope of our audit,” the Treasury inspector general spokesman told The Hill.

Chief NSA contractor Booz Allen also working for United Arab Emirates

Chief NSA contractor also working for United Arab Emirates

A private NSA contractor is doing quite well thanks in part to wealthy sheiks in the United Arab Emirates. What could possibly go wrong with that?

When the United Arab Emirates wanted to create its own version of the National Security Agency, it turned to Booz Allen Hamilton to replicate the world’s largest and most powerful spy agency in the sands of Abu Dhabi.
It was a natural choice: The chief architect of Booz Allen’s cyberstrategy is Mike McConnell, who once led the N.S.A. and pushed the United States into a new era of big data espionage. It was Mr. McConnell who won the blessing of the American intelligence agencies to bolster the Persian Gulf sheikdom, which helps track the Iranians.

“They are teaching everything,” one Arab official familiar with the effort said. “Data mining, Web surveillance, all sorts of digital intelligence collection.”

It's swell they got a blessing and great they're teaching the UAE everything.

As a forensics accountant (in-training) I am interested in money trails. So let's do a small follow money.
Question:
Who is Booz Allen Hamilton owed by?

Booz Allen Is Owned By the Carlyle Group:
Booz Allen Hamilton is majority owned by private equity firm The Carlyle Group, while Booz & Company is owned and operated as a partnership. On November 17, 2010, Booz Allen's shares of common stock began trading at the New York Stock Exchange.
[the Carlyle Group is/was owned by Poppy Bush, head of the Bushista Crime Family].
George H. W. Bush, former U.S. President, Senior Advisor to the Carlyle Asia Advisory Board from April 1998 to October 2003.

Snowden is getting smeared for "espionage-related stuff" while the Boozers openly teach foreign countries all about this.

Sweet. Always good to be in the drivers seat. Isn't it?

How to Beat Facial-Recognition Software

Over the last decade, computers have become better at seeing faces. Software can tell if a camera has a face in its frame of vision, and law enforcement has been testing facial-recognition programs that can supposedly pick out suspects in a crowd. That's prompted an arms race between the people who build facial-recognition systems — and those seeking ways to defeat them.

Facial-recognition software is becoming a bigger issue for privacy advocates as well. Surveillance cameras are already ubiquitous in the U.K., are showing up in more places in the U.S. and may increasingly be connected to facial-recognition systems.

"I went to a Kinko's a while ago," said Alex Kilpatrick, chief technology officer and co-founder of Tactical Information Systems, a company in Austin, Texas, that sells facial-recognition software to law enforcement and the military. "I saw three cameras just while I was standing in line. You see them in all kinds of places now."

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has said it is deeply concerned with the way facial-recognition systems are used. Police use such systems to flag criminals in public places, the ACLU says, but it argues that the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) use of the technology in Boston's Logan Airport and in T.F. Green Airport near Providence, R.I., doesn't seem to have helped catch any criminals or terrorists.
