Creationist: If evolution is true, then it wasn’t wrong for Josh Duggar to molest his sisters

A Creationism activist suggested Josh Duggar be punished for molesting his sleeping sisters and their friends by being paid to campaign against LGBT people marrying one another.

That’s exactly what the 27-year-old Duggar was doing until Thursday, when he resigned his position with the Family Research Council after admitting to “inexcusable behavior” as a teenager.

“Since Josh molested girls, which could damage their trust of men, which could damage their future marriage, which could damage their future family, we should make Josh Duggar work the rest of his life to help families stay together and help them recognize how twisted the world is and how God offers instruction on how to live righteously!” said Hovind, who is affiliated with the Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida.

“He should be forced to push faith, family and freedom in the public showing the Christian worldview has the answers,” Hovind continued. “We should force him to get a job at the Family Research Counsel (whose) mission is ‘to advance faith, family and freedom in public policy and the culture from a Christian worldview.’ That would be a great punishment!”

Joe Arpaio asks public to pay legal fees, laments: I have to pay for my own lawyers!

Aricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is asking supporters to pay for the cost of his ongoing legal battles, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“In some instances I have to personally pay for attorneys to represent me in these cases,” Arpaio said in an email to fans late last week. “I do not have the personal wealth or the wherewithal to keep up with the costly demands of paying for attorneys to defend me.”

Arpaio made his appeal a day before filing for the removal of District Judge G. Murray Snow from contempt of court proceedings against him.

The sheriff’s attorneys argued that Snow is incapable of being impartial in the case because of a situation created by Arpaio’s own representation; Arpaio revealed last month that a former attorney hired a private detective to investigate Snow’s wife.

“No reasonable person with knowledge of the facts can deny that Judge Snow is now investigating and presiding over issues involving his own family,” Arpaio’s current lawyer, Mel McDonald, argued.

ISS Might Be Getting a Laser Cannon Upgrade for Space Debris

Scientists are discussing mounting a laser cannon on the International Space Station (ISS) to defend it against space debris

"That's No Moon...That's a Space Station..."

Space debris has been building up for years now becoming an increasingly big problem for satellites, near-Earth space missisons, and the ISS. It’s a problem that continues to grow with the amount of space junk in Earth’s orbit, raising the chance of a catastrophic collision that could lead to a chain reaction of debris dispersal. To combat the problem scientists have started to discuss mounting a laser cannon to the ISS that could destroy the most dangerous pieces of space debris.
According to researchers at NASA there is about 3,000 tons of debris in Earth’s orbit made up of defunct satellite components, rocket parts, other pieces of equipment that were broken off during collisions. Pieces of this 3,000 tons as small as a screw can be a threat since they travel at speeds up to 22,370 MPH.

Thankfully those smaller pieces, measuring less than a centimeter, are not able to damage spacecraft that have shielding like the ISS. Except there are an estimated 700,000 pieces of debris in orbit that are larger than a centimeter.

Pieces 10 centimeters or larger are easy to detect and avoid but it’s the thousands of pieces in between 1 and 10 centimeters that have scientists worried. That’s why there is a discussion going on now to create a laser cannon that can be mounted on the ISS that would disrupt the debris orbit so they will burn up in the atmosphere. Scientists say that the Extreme Universe Space Observatory, scheduled to be installed on the ISS in 2017, could be used to spot the troublesome debris.

The entire idea might sound like science fiction but there is already a high powered beam under development that could do the job. Called a Coherent Amplification Network Laser, it is already in development for creating particle beams used in atom smashers. The only problem that scientific researchers see is getting the funds to to develop and launch a laser cannon. Although they believe that mounting a small scale version on the ISS as a proof concept will pave the way for a larger version. Their ultimate goal being a satellite dedicated to the removal of space debris that they estimate could eliminate 100,000 pieces a year.

The male suicides: Social perfectionism is killing men — and things are getting worse

Finally, Drummond had everything he’d ever dreamed of. He’d come a long way since he was a little boy, upset at his failure to get into the grammar school. That had been a great disappointment to his mother, and to his father, who was an engineer at a pharmaceutical company. His dad had never showed much interest in him as a child. He didn’t play with him and when he was naughty, he’d put him over the back of a chair and wallop him. That’s just the way men were in those days. Your father was feared and respected. Dads were dads.

It was difficult, seeing the grammar boys pass by the house in their smart caps, every morning. Drummond had always dreamed of becoming a headteacher in a little school in a perfect village when he grew up, but he was only able to get a place at the technical school learning woodwork and bricklaying. The careers tutor almost laughed when he told him of his dreams to teach. But Drummond was ambitious. He earned a place at college, became president of its student union. He found a teaching job, married his childhood sweetheart, and slowly climbed his way to a headship in a Norfolk village. He had three children and two cars. His mother, at least, was proud.

And he was sitting alone in a small room, thinking about killing himself.

Impulsivity, brooding rumination, low serotonin, poor social problem-solving abilities – there are many vulnerabilities that can heighten the risk of suicide. Professor Rory O’Connor, President of the International Academy of Suicide Research, has been studying the psychological processes behind self-inflicted death for over 20 years.

CELEBRATE! REALITY TV IS GETTING VOTED OFF THE ISLAND AS REALITY SHOWS LOSE OUT ON STREAMING

The obvious appeal of instant streaming video may be the immediacy and wide-ranging choice it provides to viewers. But following viewing trends across the battle between hardwired networks and online video services may prove that another important factor of streaming is really all about quality.
When reality television hit it big in the US with shows like Survivor and Big Brother, the networks couldn’t have been happier. Reality shows cut production costs in a big way, and were instantly popular and in turn, profitable.

Companies like Amazon Prime and Netflix have seen enormous success from their original shows, including Titles like Transparent, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. But from a business perspective, these companies don’t see see reality TV as a lucrative option when it comes to original content.

It’s just too hard to create lasting interest with reality TV, which means losing audience members quickly and missing out on building viewer loyalty.
