Trump threatens to pull $1 billion investment if he is banned from UK
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has threatened to cancel over 700 million pounds ($1 billion) of planned investments in golf courses in Scotland if Britain slaps him with a travel ban.
The threat from Trump, owner of two golf courses in his mother’s homeland of Scotland, comes as British lawmakers prepare to hold a debate on a petition signed by over half a million people calling for him to be barred from the country after his proposal to stop Muslims entering the United States.
The debate will be held on Jan. 18 but will not be followed by a vote. Only interior minister Theresa May can issue an order banning entry into Britain and Prime Minister David Cameron has said he does not favor barring Trump.

NASA recently provided $10 million in funding to Ad Astra Rocket Company of Texas for further development of its Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket (VASIMR), an electromagnetic thruster capable of propelling a spaceship to Mars in just 39 days. NASA’s funding was part of the “12 Next Space Technologies for Exploration Partnership.” Ad Astra’s rocket will travel ten times faster than today’s chemical rockets while using one-tenth the amount of fuel.
The VASIMR system would cut the trip to Mars by months according to Franklin Chang Diaz, a former MIT student, NASA astronaut, and now CEO of Ad Astra.
According to Diaz, “this is like no other rocket that you may have seen in the past. It is a plasma rocket. The VASIMR Rocket is not used for launching things; it is used for things already in orbit. This is called “in-space propulsion.”

An extremist Christian activist and video blogger called for the execution of feminists in Europe who desecrate the crucifix, according to Right Wing Watch.
Theodore Shoebat, an anti-gay Donald Trump supporter, posted the comments to his blog on Tuesday. Last month, Shoebat called for armed raids on “demonic” yoga studios in order to “Christianize the land.”
In his Tuesday video, Shoebat said he doesn’t believe attacks on Christianity “should be tolerated.”
“There’s these feminists in France, they’ll get crucifixes and they’ll put the crucifixes up their anuses,” he said. “Those people should not be tolerated. That happened in Italy. If I was ruling in Italy or if the Italian government called me up and said, ‘Theodore what do you think we should do?’ I would say, ‘You need to arrest those women and burn them at the stake.'”

The militants occupying an Oregon nature preserve are apparently using women and children as human shields.
Television crews and newspaper photographers have shown women and children visiting the Malheur National Wildlife Reserve, where at least two dozen self-described militiamen have brought their guns and demanded the release of two ranchers sentenced in an arson case.
The militants are also demanding that the Bureau of Land Management turn over the nature preserve to local authorities for private use.
Federal authorities, however, have said they intend to flush out the armed militants by shutting off utility service to the visitors center they took over Saturday evening following a demonstration.

A Hawaiian man has filed a lawsuit against a Honolulu police officer, and the city that employs him, after the cop savagely beat him for praying next to a sun-bathing Hawaiian monk seal on the beach.
According to Courthouse News, Jamie Kalani Rice was on Nanakuli beach on Sept. 10, 2014, when he approached a seal lying on the sand, believing it to be injured or dying. Rice then sat about ten feet away from the seal, chanting and rubbing sand between his hands and on his body as part of a ritual prayer.
Because the area was posted with a “Do not disturb” sign asking visitors to not harass the seals, a bystander called police and officer Ming Wang responded.
In the video, Wang can be seen approaching and speaking with Rice as he knelt in the sand, before snapping his baton out and later grabbing a can of pepper spray and shaking it menacingly.

Caught on video illegally selling assault rifles and sensitive information to undercover informants, a former officer of the year has also been accused of secretly working for Los Zetas cartel in a drug trafficking conspiracy in operation since 2006. Although the cop allegedly provided the cartel with firearms, bulletproof vests, luxury vehicles, police scanners, and database access, recently filed court documents revealed at least two convicted cocaine traffickers are cooperating with the government against the disgraced cop.
On September 2, 2014, Efrain Grimaldo, the nephew of Houston Police Officer Noe Juarez, was sentenced to 33 years in federal prison after caught smuggling 1,640 kilograms of cocaine throughout the southern states and east coast. On June 24, 2014, Efrain’s brother, Sergio Grimaldo, was extradited from Mexico and later charged along with Officer Juarez for participating in a conspiracy to distribute five or more kilograms of cocaine. Juarez was also charged in a separate conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
In April, videos surfaced of Juarez illegally selling firearms and sensitive information to government informants posing as major drug traffickers. In March 2011, a hidden camera recorded Juarez selling assault rifles to an informant. A second video recorded in July 2011 revealed Juarez running license plates through the Houston Police Department (HPD) database for an undercover informant who told the cop that the plate numbers belonged to people who owed him $800,000 in drug money.

17-year-old Samra and her friend, 15-year-old Sabina, travelled to Syria together last year to join Isis - both are now believed to be dead.
Reports in the Österreich and Kronen Zeitung tabloids cite ‘insider’ sources who say Samra was beaten to death but the interior and foreign ministries have not confirmed this.
"We cannot comment on individual cases," Foreign Ministry spokesman Thomas Schnöll told the Austria Press Agency. Interior Ministry spokesman Karl-Heinz Grundböck also said that he could not comment on the matter.
The report in the Kronen Zeitung quotes a Tunisian woman who also travelled to Syria to join the jihadists last year but later escaped and returned home. She told the newspaper that she lived with Samra and Sabina in Raqqa.

Bal Harbour, FL – The village of Bal Harbour, population 2,513, may have a tiny footprint on the northern tip of Miami Beach, but its police department had grand aspirations of going after international drug traffickers, and making a few million dollars while they were at it.
The Bal Harbour PD and the Glades County Sheriff’s Office set up a giant money laundering scheme with the purported goal of busting drug cartels and stemming the surge of drug dealing going on in the area. But it all fell apart when federal investigators and the Miami-Herald found strange things going on.
The two-year operation, which took in more than $55 million from criminal groups, resulted in zero arrests but netted $2.4 million for the police posing as money launderers. Members of the 12-person task force traveled far and wide to carry out their deals, from Los Angeles to New York to Puerto Rico.
Along the way, the small-town cops got a taste of luxury as they used the money for first-class flights, luxury hotels, Mac computers and submachine guns. Meanwhile, the Bal Harbour PD and Glades County Sheriffs were buying all sorts of fancy new equipment.
