Police: Man fires AK-47 while driving down Florida highway

MIAMI -- A man fired an AK-47 rifle while driving down a Florida highway, damaging at least two passing vehicles, police say.

Miami-Dade Police say the 37-year-old suspect began shooting from inside his burgundy Toyota Corolla at about 1 a.m. Monday as he was driving south on the Palmetto Expressway, CBS Miami reports.

At least two vehicles were struck by bullets.

Miami-Dade Police Officer Dan Ferrin said one victim drove himself to a hospital with a minor head injury due to debris from the shooting. Police said the suspect was grazed by a bullet in the face during the exchange.

GOP suffers surprise defection on Obamacare repeal [News on healthcare front...keep Calling!!!!]

"President Donald Trump dialed up his campaign-trail ally Rep. Billy Long on Monday, after the Missouri Republican announced his decision to vote against the Republican plan to replace Obamacare. The goal was straightforward: Persuade Long to change his mind.

It didn't work. Though Long hails from a deeply conservative district that overwhelmingly backed Trump over Hillary Clinton in November, and Long supported earlier versions of the legislation, the president's entreaties fell short, GOP insiders said.

It was an unexpected blow for House GOP leaders and the White House, who raised expectations over the weekend that they were on the cusp of clinching the votes to pass the legislation. Instead, the scramble for support is still very much on."

AN DIEGO -- Police shot and killed a 49-year-old man suspected of shooting seven people Sunday at a birthday pool party in an apartment complex near the University of California, San Diego, authorities said.

Police received reports of a man shooting people by the swimming pool at around 6 p.m., Chief Shelley Zimmerman said at a news conference.

The gunman was described as a white male, reports CBS San Diego affiliate KFMB-TV.

Four black women, two black men, and one Hispanic man were taken to hospitals with gunshot wounds, Zimmerman said. One of the women later died.

Exclusive: Trump says 'major, major' conflict with North Korea possible, but seeks diplomacy

Source: Retuers

" President Donald Trump said on Thursday a major conflict with North Korea is possible in the standoff over its nuclear and missile programs, but he would prefer a diplomatic outcome to the dispute.

"There is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea. Absolutely," Trump told Reuters in an Oval Office interview ahead of his 100th day in office on Saturday".

Nonetheless, Trump said he wanted to peacefully resolve a crisis that has bedeviled multiple U.S. presidents, a path that he and his administration are emphasizing by preparing a variety of new economic sanctions while not taking the military option off the table.

"We'd love to solve things diplomatically but it's very difficult," he said."

Trump just made the most foolish, incendiary statement any president has ever made about a country run by a paranoid trigger happy dictator who has vowed to make the first strike, and he has nukes. Trump's is going to get us all killed...he is the most stupid president ever to occupy the White House. God help us.
