From the NYT- Parliamentarian nixes key Provisions of Trumpcare/now need 60 for repeal and replace.
I know a subscription may be needed by some...so here are the most important points:
"One provision questioned by the parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough, and cherished by conservatives would cut off federal funds for Planned Parenthood for one year. Another would prohibit use of federal subsidies to buy insurance that includes coverage for abortions. A third provision would penalize people who go without health insurance by requiring them to wait six months before their coverage could begin."
"...If formally challenged, the provisions could survive only with 60 votes, a near-impossibility in the partisan, narrowly divided Senate. The abortion-related provisions are important to many conservatives, not just in the Senate but also in the House..."
"...And Democrats made clear they would seize on the findings. The parliamentarians decision today proves once again that the process Republicans have undertaken to repeal the Affordable Care Act and throw 22 million Americans off of health insurance is a disaster, said Senator Bernie Sanders, independent of Vermont..."

What should the Democratic message be in 18? This article addresses all points of view.
"Ben Wikler, the Washington director for the progressive group MoveOn, believes that Medicare for all, like Social Security and Medicare itself, would become one of the most popular measures in American history. Democrats should be fighting not just for a majority but for a mandate to enact bold policies that make peoples lives better and give them a reason to vote for Democrats in the future, Wikler told me. Were not well-served if we elect a slate of Joe Liebermans who back away from progressive policies that would make peoples lives better.
Some Democrats are more cautious, even if they dont oppose Medicare-for-all as a policy. With all do respect to single-payer, which may be a good idea, I have not seen a single poll that thats the winning message in swing districts, said Representative Jim Himes, who chairs the moderate New Democrat Coalition in the House. Ultimately, Buttigieg said, I think every candidates going to have to figure this out for themselves.... I do think, politically, it will be very interesting to see whether Medicare-for-all appeals only in liberal areas or also to independents, because I think it might.
The split on single-payer issue is largely about how soon Democrats should push the idea. I think we do need to move towards a universal health care system. What does that look like? said Symone Sanders, a Democratic strategist who was Sanderss national press secretary last year. I think theres room for debate on that. Im not locked into one proposal right now, and I wouldnt encourage democrats to lock themselves into one proposal. She hopes Democrats talk about building on the success of Obamacare, reducing health insurance premiums, and bringing more competition to the individual market. She envisions a hybrid approach, wherein Democrats push for small changes in the short term while moving toward a bigger overhaul down the road. I think most people would agree that single-payer health care is not coming next month, Himes said.

The GOP's Obamacare repeal-only plan is already on the verge of stalling
Two Senators (Chechez La Femme) Collins and Capito have said that they won't vote for the repeal only bill...not even to bring it to the floor. And with John McCain sick, that means McConnell doesn't have the votes.

Trump Jr. admits he wanted info on Clinton from Russian...Breaking (holy shit!!!)
This is the smoking gun...
"A meeting between President Donald Trump's eldest son and a Russian lawyer during the presidential campaign occurred at the behest of a Moscow-based singer with family ties to Trump's businesses, according to a participant in the talks. Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged Monday he made time for the meeting hoping to get information about Democrat Hillary Clinton.
The circumstances surrounding the meeting, and a report by The New York Times late Monday that Trump Jr. was told ahead of time that the source of the information was the Russian government, fueled new questions about the Trump campaign's possible ties to Moscow, which are being scrutinized by federal and congressional investigators.
The Times reported that Trump Jr., who was a key campaign adviser to his father, was told the Russian government was behind the information on Clinton in an email from music publicist Rob Goldstone. The Times cited three unnamed people with knowledge of the email."
