Wow! Wisconsin Democrats remain a whole lot more progressive than party leaders claim.

By the way, Waupaca County, where we had our march and rally, went to Bernie by 20 points (59.7 -39.7). The map at the link is interactive and you can see results by county.

State-wide, Bernie prevailed 56.5 to 43.1, a 13-point shellacking.

On edit, Bernie's win might have been even bigger than reported by the NYT...

Feeling the Bern in Waupaca! Our Bernie March and Rally was recorded, is on local news site

Damn fine showing for a town of 6,000 without Bernie actually being there, plus the snowstorm.

BERNIE SANDERS’ SUPPORTERS MARCH IN WAUPACA

Supporters of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders for president held a rally at the Waupaca Rec Center Saturday, April 2.

They marched through downtown and to the corner of West Fulton Street and Western Avenue.

Although the sun came out for a short time at the beginning of the march, before it was half over, Waupaca was hit by heavy snowfall.

Wisconsin’s presidential primary is Tuesday, April 5. Sanders is seeking the Democratic nomination.

Neither snow, nor wind, nor more snow can stop the Bernin' Love in Waupaca

We'd been planning our Waupaca, Wisconsin Bernie Rally and March for a couple months already, so despite the snow that fell today our small community was Feeling the Bern!

That's right, despite the blizzard conditions, despite the fact that Bernie was not even scheduled to appear, we had over 250 people turn out and show their support for Bernie.

While some volunteers worked on getting the Rec Center gym set up ....

... others stood out in the snow and beckoned their fellow citizens to join them in Feelin' the Bern.

Bernie was here, but only in spirit ..

We had food, music and speaker, and of course, marchers!

Our project organizaer, Dmitri Martin, Candidate for Wisconsin Assembly, AD40.

I've got a good feeling about Tuesday!!!

"The Measles of Mankind"—10 Stand Out Quotes on Nationalism

Today's political discourse is afflicted with virulent strains of fear-mongering and isolationism. As an antidote, here are 10 quotes on nationalism from some of history's strong progressive voices.

1. "Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind."
—Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

4. "Imagine there's no countries. It isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for."
—John Lennon (1940-1980)

5. "The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren and to do good is my religion."
—Thomas Paine (1737-1809)

7. "So we draw lines around our property, our counties, our cities, our states, our countries. And, boy, do we act as if those lines are important. I mean, we go to war. We will kill and die to protect those boundaries. Nature couldn't give two hoots about our national boundaries."
—David Suzuki (1936-)

Trump: "There has to be some form of punishment for women who have abortions, like maybe we replace her with a hotter woman from Slovenia."

My religion forbids contraception, so I should not have to pay my employees since they MIGHT use those wages to purchase birth control.

Trump: "Yes, Corey Lewandowski assaulted a reporter, but it's her fault for being a journalist instead of a beauty pageant contestant."
