Is Paul Ryan one of the South Park Gnomes?

South Park Gnomes:

Fact check: Did Ryan really say the U.S. Navy is close to being smaller than in 1913?

Where did he get that, here? http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread825952/pg1

Pretty sure our Navy is a bit stronger now.

That Romney Ryan Ticket Sure Can Run Their Mouths

Too bad all that seems to come out is a heaping pile of stinking lies.

Spewing their B.S. from the wrong end of the gastrointestinal cavity.

Another reason we can't trust any Romney budget

In January, Romney said he'd earned $21.7 million in 2011

It took him NINE MONTHS to figure out he was terribly wrong.

Turns out Romney had an adjusted gross income of $13,696,951 in 2011.

Nine months ago, Romney thought he had earned over 50% more than he actually had.

Just for appearances, he forewent $262,500 in tax savings for charitable contributions (which he must have given thinking he'd made much more than he actually had).

If it takes the guy nine months to figure out how much HE made LAST YEAR, how can he be trusted to budget all of OUR money for the next TEN YEARS?

Fiscally Irresponsible Republican Governors Can't Afford to Expand Medicaid

The federal government pledges to pick up all the costs at first and 90 percent of them after 2020.

Republican Governors generally assert only they (as opposed to a Democrat) can handle fiscal matters. Yet, only Republican Governors are rejecting the coming Medicaid expansion. Why? [Caution - Sarcasm Ahead] Because they're apparently so good at fiscal matters that they just don't have the money to expand Medicaid.

Meanwhile, Democratic Governors seem to have no problem finding a way to pay. Moreover, by covering more people and keeping them healthy and out of emergency rooms, they'll probably save tons of money in the long run.

Who's really got their fiscal affairs in order?

Is it Democrats, who can provide preventive care to their citizens?
Or is it Republicans, who offer only an emergency room, and then only after the gangrene is so advanced that legs need to be cut off?

Per the NY Times:

"More than half a dozen Republican governors — including those of Texas and Florida, which have the nation’s largest populations of poor uninsured residents — said they would not expand their programs because Medicaid already eats up an unsustainable share of their budgets. A slightly bigger number of Democratic governors said they would move swiftly to expand coverage in their states, with the federal government pledging to pick up all the costs at first and 90 percent of them after 2020."

Protesters in Moscow Try New Tactics to Avoid Arrests

***
Since Sunday, the day before the inauguration, when the authorities broke up a permitted protest for still unclear reasons, the police have arrested at least 600 activists in Moscow, including protest leaders on multiple occasions for several hours. On Wednesday, a court sentenced Mr. Navalny and another protest leader, Sergei Udaltsov, to 15 days in jail for disobeying a police order.
***
Two days later, amid throngs of tourists eating ice cream and posing for pictures outside the Kremlin gates, a group of mostly young people wearing white ribbons and carrying flowers suddenly broke into song. First it was a perestroika-era protest tune and then a World War II-era army song in honor of the anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany.
***
Riot police officers in black helmets, jackboots and flak jackets moved in almost immediately, joined by a uniformed police officer with a megaphone, who began repeating in a steady monotone: "Dear citizens, your action is illegal. Disperse immediately."
