Not really, just wondering how long before this assertion comes up in the media, on the Internet, or elsewhere.
What with them burning flags and throwing condoms at Catholic schoolgirls, and all.

Ya know what? I think it's all bullshit, the work of agents provocateur, plants, freepers, baggers, but not true occupiers.
Don't buy it.
Occupy.

FFS. It's not rocket science. Rule Number One in Effective Education:
(a rant inspired by a GD thread about a kid who peed in a bottle because the teacher wouldn't give him a pass).
"We Serve Students.
Is that so difficult to understand?
I left the classroom to begin administering programs.
I hire teachers, and last year I had to replace a teacher that didn't fit.
Some teachers get it and other teachers don't.
Everything I do is to support teachers so that they can support students.
Every teacher's job is to support students.
Everyone in my building "gets it", most importantly the kids and parents.
And the students return the favor with positive outputs and attitudes that are of immeasurable value to everyone in the picture.
Our only discipline issues are with visiting students.
That it may be difficult or impossible to implement this principal in every school and district, the fact remains:
Our role is to serve students, and I feel that whenever this isn't understood and celebrated, that failure and grief are soon to follow.
PS: let kids used the restroom, FFS.
I watched a special on Current TV about Julian Assange and about WikiLeaks....
Julian came of as a bit of an ass in it. I was surprised by his behavior, but also encouraged by the way it's become a decentralized movement.
There's a new offering launched by his former associate, Daniel Domscheit-Berg (pictured below), called OpenLeaks: http://www.openleaks.org/
And there are other spinoffs, like Cryptome: http://cryptome.org/
Like OWS, the movement abhors centralized power, so Julian will become a bit of history.
Here's a story from "Wired" about Assange's maniacal treatment of his crew:

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange now makes his associates sign a draconian nondisclosure agreement that, among other things, asserts that the organizations huge trove of leaked material is solely the property of WikiLeaks, according to a report Wednesday.
You accept and agree that the information disclosed, or to be disclosed to you pursuant to this agreement is, by its nature, valuable proprietary commercial information, the agreement reads, the misuse or unauthorized disclosure of which would be likely to cause us considerable damage.
The confidentiality agreement (.pdf), revealed by the New Statesman, imposes a penalty of 12 million British pounds nearly $20 million on anyone responsible for a significant leak of the organizations unpublished material. The figure is based on a typical open-market valuation of WikiLeaks collection, the agreement claims. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/05/nda-wikileaks/

Fucking edited to fucking add the URL goddammit. Why with all the new fucking bells and whistles must DU3 force a post with a fucking correction to bear the red lettered mark of shame for having edited, huh???

Hey!!!
I heard y'all were lookin' fer me!
I'll spend more time with you all once DU2 is dead!
I had the privilege of being with Bill Ayers for three days last week.
His views on education are something that everyone needs to hear, in my opinion.
Among the various speakers, attendees I spoke with agreed that his presentation was the most compelling.
I didn't know that he had experience teaching Kindergarten, and working with at-risk youth.
I believe his 25 minute talk will be posted to the Internet soon and I'll post a link.
He calls bullshit on the bullshit and sees the big picture.
Not just "teachers- well rested and well paid", but "education, for everyone, is a right".
I never thought I'd ever be "pallin' around with a terrorist!
