There is a lot more going on here than people upset with not winning more delegates. The Democratic Party establishment, especially the party leadership at state levels, has witnessed supporters pass motions in an effort to end superdelegates, which have gone against the will of the people in multiple states where Sanders won landslide victories. They do not want Sanders delegates to organize effectively and wield the process to advance their agenda. So, leaders, who back Clinton, have decided to engage in manipulation and obstruction at conventions to diminish the influence of Sanders supporters.

On top of that, the Nevada State Democratic Party and others, who militantly guard the status quo, cry out about the “threat” Sanders supporters pose to the Party’s national convention scheduled for July. Their false alarm is dependent on the public not knowing all the shenanigans, which the Party has engaged in to improperly limit the influence of the Sanders campaign. For example, the Party has stacked the deck against the Sanders campaign by only appointing three of the 45 people he recommended for the Democratic National Convention committees. Critically, former Representative Barney Frank—a Clinton surrogate, who has been vitriolic in his criticism of Sanders—will co-chair the important Rules Committee.

Finally, it cannot be argued that Sanders never would have won the state convention in Nevada, and so it does not matter what the Democratic Party did to engineer a certain outcome. Why, then, did they go to all that trouble to stifle the influence of Sanders? The answer is because the Democratic Party is confronted with a popular uprising that is raising expectations for change and forcing them to represent people over corporate or special interests. It threatens the very mechanisms, which the party uses to entrench a status quo that helps preserve their power. They do not appreciate being challenged and have opted to respond with authoritarian maneuvers to vilify and silence millions of people they expect to fall in line and support a nominee they are still struggling to anoint as the presidential nominee.

Demanding state Democratic party leaders show supporters fairness and respect, Sanders indicated he was “happy to say that has been the case at state conventions in Maine, Alaska, Colorado and Hawaii where good discussions were held and democratic decisions were reached.” “Unfortunately, that was not the case at the Nevada convention. At that convention the Democratic leadership used its power to prevent a fair and transparent process from taking place.”

Mika Brzezinski the liberal half of the MSNBC Morning Joe duo spoke out Wednesday morning to call for the resignation of Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her unfair treatment of the Bernie Sanders campaign.

“This has been very poorly handled from the start,” Mika Brzezinski said. “It has been unfair and they haven’t taken him seriously, and it starts quite frankly with the person we just heard speaking. It just does. You know that.”


“Can I ask this? Why would Bernie Sanders politely get in line for the Democratic Party?” asked her co-host Joe Scarborough.

“Because Hillary Clinton‘s people said so,” Brzezinski said sarcastically.

“I sure wouldn’t. If the party I was a member of treated me like this, rigged the debate process… I’d say go straight to hell, I’m running as an independent,” he concluded.

“She should step down,” Brzezinski put in “She should step down.”

“CNN panelists piled on Bernie Sanders this afternoon and took on some of the more concerning elements surrounding his campaign.

The discussion focused on what Jake Tapper referred to as an “ugly convention” in Nevada, where Sanders supporters got angry and violent and threatening. Sanders issued a statement offering a general condemnation of violence, but that is not tamping down the outrage.

New York Times correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman called out the narrative that Sanders is “above politics and above the fray” when he is engaging in “character attacks” about Clinton in questioning her Wall Street ties.”

Now that Hillary Clinton has told her supporters more than once that she intends to put Bill Clinton to work in her administration, it becomes difficult, if not impossible, for the candidate and her supporters to continue complaining that attacks on Bill are not legitimate criticisms of Hillary as well.


Clinton says she wants to put Bill to work, helping from every aspect of her administration from trade to jobs. Those who remember the Clinton administration might think that this sort of trust in Bill is a great idea, after all, the 90’s were a relatively comfortable time period for the American middle class. But once you take off the rose-tinted glasses, you may realize that a great deal of Clinton-era policy has lead to many of the issues we are facing in 2016.

First, there’s the crime bill for which Secretary Clinton has had to apologize repeatedly, meanwhile, old Bill continues to defend his crime bill and shame Black Lives Matter protesters who dare to question him. That was the bill which gave us the now-infamous comment from Hillary about “super-predators.” The crime bill purported to cut down on out-of-control drug use and crime in America at the time, but it instituted overly-severe penalties and discriminatory practices which resulted in a very racialized criminal justice system which still stands today.

Then there are the disastrous trade deals put in place by the Clinton administration. Foremost was NAFTA, or the North American Free Trade Agreement which was signed into law by president Clinton in 1993. If you’ve seen just one debate or speech from Senator Bernie Sanders, you’ll know what progressive Democrats think of this “disastrous trade deal.” NAFTA is such a bad deal that even psychopath Donald Trump wants to give it the boot.

And sure, Hillary Clinton wasn’t the president in 1993 when that trade deal was signed. She wasn’t the president when the 1994 crime bill was ratified. But if a 2016 Clinton administration plans to put the former president Clinton up close and personal with modern day America, it’s necessary to closely scrutinize that decision.Though charming Bill has a way with the American people, anyone who looks at him as he stumps for Clinton across the country can see that he has lost most of his charm and graces. What is left is a defensive man who is fiercely protective of his legacy, who has so far refused to see the error of his ways. If Clinton wants him in her administration, making the call on issues as important as trade and job growth, doesn’t that call into question her own judgement?

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders on Tuesday issued the following statement:

“It is imperative that the Democratic leadership, both nationally and in the states, understand that the political world is changing and that millions of Americans are outraged at establishment politics and establishment economics. The people of this country want a government which represents all of us, not just the 1 percent, super PACs and wealthy campaign contributors.

“The Democratic Party has a choice. It can open its doors and welcome into the party people who are prepared to fight for real economic and social change – people who are willing to take on Wall Street, corporate greed and a fossil fuel industry which is destroying this planet. Or the party can choose to maintain its status quo structure, remain dependent on big-money campaign contributions and be a party with limited participation and limited energy.

“Within the last few days there have been a number of criticisms made against my campaign organization. Party leaders in Nevada, for example, claim that the Sanders campaign has a ‘penchant for violence.’ That is nonsense. Our campaign has held giant rallies all across this country, including in high-crime areas, and there have been zero reports of violence. Our campaign of course believes in non-violent change and it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals. But, when we speak of violence, I should add here that months ago, during the Nevada campaign, shots were fired into my campaign office in Nevada and apartment housing complex my campaign staff lived in was broken into and ransacked.

“If the Democratic Party is to be successful in November, it is imperative that all state parties treat our campaign supporters with fairness and the respect that they have earned. I am happy to say that has been the case at state conventions in Maine, Alaska, Colorado and Hawaii where good discussions were held and democratic decisions were reached. Unfortunately, that was not the case at the Nevada convention. At that convention the Democratic leadership used its power to prevent a fair and transparent process from taking place. Among other things:

* The chair of the convention announced that the convention rules passed on voice vote, when the vote was a clear no-vote. At the very least, the Chair should have allowed for a headcount.

* The chair allowed its Credentials Committee to en mass rule that 64 delegates were ineligible without offering an opportunity for 58 of them to be heard. That decision enabled the Clinton campaign to end up with a 30-vote majority.

* The chair refused to acknowledge any motions made from the floor or allow votes on them.

* The chair refused to accept any petitions for amendments to the rules that were properly submitted.

“These are on top of failures at the precinct and county conventions including trying to depose and then threaten with arrest the Clark County convention credentials chair because she was operating too fairly.”

Clinton is Not Telling the Truth on Auto Bailout

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign spokesman on Monday said Hillary Clinton should stop trying to distort the truth about Sanders’ support for legislation to help carmakers and auto workers.

Campaigning in Kentucky before Tuesday’s primary election, Clinton repeated her false claim that Sanders did not vote to fund an auto industry aid package in 2008. In fact, Sanders voted for a $14 billion aid package which passed the House of Representatives on Dec. 10, 2008. When that bill ran into a Senate Republican roadblock, the White House turned to a separate Wall Street bailout fund for loans to the auto industry.

“It is absolutely untrue to say that Sen. Sanders voted against helping the automobile industry and auto workers,” said Sanders’ spokesman Michael Briggs. “Secretary Clinton first made this false claim before the Michigan primary. She now is recycling the erroneous charge in Kentucky. Once again, Secretary Clinton is simply not telling the truth.”

When Clinton first mischaracterized Sanders’ position before Michigan’s March 8 primary, The Washington Post said Clinton was trying to deceive voters and that she “glosses over a lot . . . including the fact that Sanders is actually on the record as supporting the auto bailout. He even voted for it.” The Post also said of Clinton, “It seems like she’s willing to take the gamble that fact checkers may call her out for her tactic … but that voters won’t.”

Unlike Clinton, Sanders did vote against bailing out big banks after the 2008 economic collapse. “It is true that Sen. Sanders voted against bailing out the crooks on Wall Street whose illegal behavior and greed brought this economy into the worst downturn since the 1930s,” Briggs said.

“I called ops and they gave me your ‘secure’ cells… but only got a high-pitched whining sound,” Clinton wrote to Mills, acknowledging that she could not gain access to her over a secure line.

“I just spoke to ops and called you reg line – we have to wait until we see each other b/c [the] technology is not working,” Mills wrote back, suggesting Hillary to try the secure line again.

But the former secretary wrote back saying that she could wait any longer.
