Police hostage-takers blew themselves up as police approached -

Once the Paris police decided to storm the Bataclan theater, where four terrorists were holding dozens of people hostage,
the assailants decided to detonate the suicide belts they were wearing, according to local media reports, who added that over 110 people died as a result of the siege.
Three of the attackers were killed after letting off their explosive devices, while the fourth died after being shot by police.
The exact number of hostages killed is still unknown. The Le Parisien newspaper claims over 100 people died, with at least a dozen suffering injuries.
One of the gunmen at Bataclan reportedly shouted: "It's for Syria" and "Allahu Akbar!" meaning, “God is [the] greatest” in Arabic.

Secret Service officer charged with trying to solicit minor

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Federal authorities say a Secret Service agent from Maryland sent obscene images and texts to someone he thought was a young Delaware girl, sometimes doing it while on duty at the White House.

Unbeknownst to agent Lee Robert Moore, the person he thought was a 14-year-old girl was actually an undercover Delaware police officer. Moore now faces state and federal charges.

According to a complaint filed Thursday in federal court in Wilmington, Moore surrendered Monday to Maryland State Police after being placed on administrative leave last week.

According to the complaint, Moore often engaged in online chats while on duty, once asking the girl to send him something "exciting" on a day when he was checking IDs for building entrance.

US Gov't gives 5 ..make that 6- different excuses for bombing Doctors W/O Borders hospital...

1.Representative Duncan Hunter has apparently been informed by a few special forces operatives that the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan, which is in charge of overseeing airstrikes, did not know the compound contained a hospital.

2. The U.S. Army’s $5 billion intelligence network was down and affected the ability of forces to avoid bombing civilians.

The trouble with this new “fog of war” explanation for bombing the Doctors Without Borders hospital is it marks another shift in the U.S. account of what happened.

The story of what happened shifted four times in four days after the airstrikes

3.The U.S. military was unsure if the hospital had been bombed but claimed U.S. forces had been under fire.

4.Then, the U.S. military claimed strikes were in the “vicinity” of the hospital and the bombing was an accident.

5.Then, the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan claimed Afghans had called for the strike and U.S. forces had never been under any threat.

6.Then, while addressing a Senate committee, he stated U.S. forces had called for the airstrike after receiving a request from the Afghans.

Colorado Voters Toss Restrictive Laws, Vote In Favor Of Allowing Municipal Broadband

Voters in municipalities across Colorado this week overwhelmingly chose chose to the state’s 2005 law blocking the expansion of municipal broadband, the Institute for Local Self-Reliance reports. 44 different towns, cities, and counties had measures on their ballots regarding local authority of telecommunications services, and all of them passed by large margins, gaining between 70% and 93% of votes.

Local officials told media that for their communities, the votes are critically important. Their networks are mainly in rural or spread-out areas that profit-driven ISPs have no real motivation to spend money on connecting, maintaining, upgrading, or improving.

The votes don’t mean that all 44 Colorado communities are about to run out and start their own gigabit fiber projects immediately or anything. They do, however, give those communities the legal ability to do so in the future, should they so choose.

Ben Carson admits fabricating West Point scholarship

Carson's campaign on Friday admitted that a central point in his inspirational personal story was fabricated.

The academy has occupied a central place in Carson’s tale for years. According to a story told in Carson’s book, “Gifted Hands,” the then-17 year old was introduced in 1969 to Gen. William Westmoreland, who had just ended his command of U.S. forces in Vietnam, and the two dined together. That meeting, according to Carson’s telling, was followed by a “full scholarship” to the military academy.

West Point, however, has no record of Carson applying, much less being extended admission.

“In 1969, those who would have completed the entire process would have received their acceptance letters from the Army Adjutant General,” said Theresa Brinkerhoff, a spokeswoman for the academy. She said West Point has no records that indicate Carson even began the application process. “If he chose to pursue (the application process) then we would have records indicating such,” she said.

When presented with this evidence, Carson’s campaign conceded the story was false.

White House posts entirety of Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, here:

President Obama gave Congress notice he will sign the thing, after a 90 day review period.

I suggest downloading to a safe file for when the inevitable arguments and possible Gov. denials of content appear.
