I promised Brando I would not touch his Oscar': the secret life of Sacheen Littlefeather, Guardian:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jun/03/i-promised-brando-i-would-not-touch-his-oscar-secret-life-sacheen-littlefeather#Echobo

In 1973, she made history at the Academy Awards, appearing in place of Marlon Brando, declining his statuette and making a speech about Native American rights. She has been speaking out ever since....

Sacheen Littlefeather begins by announcing that this will be one of her last interviews: “I’m very, very ill. I have metastasised breast cancer – terminal – to my right lung. And I’ve been on chemotherapy for quite some time, and daily antibiotics. As a result, my memory is not as good as it used to be … I’m very tired all the time because cancer is a full-time job: the CT scans, MRIs, laboratory blood work, medical visits, chemotherapy, infectious disease control doctors, etc, etc. If you’re lazy, you need not apply for cancer.”

For the next couple of hours, speaking over Zoom from her home in northern California, as she trips down memory lane her solemn demeanour gives way to chattiness and laughter. At 74, she has lived a full, eventful life, though she will be for ever remembered for an event that took up little more than one minute of it, on the night of 27 March 1973. This was when she took the stage at the 45th Academy Awards to speak on behalf of Marlon Brando, who had been awarded best actor for his performance in The Godfather. It is still a striking scene to watch. Amid the gaudy 70s evening wear, 26-year-old Littlefeather’s tasselled buckskin dress, moccasins, long, straight black hair and handsome face set in an expression of almost sorrowful composure, make a jarring contrast.

When the presenter, Roger Moore, attempts to hand Littlefeather Brando’s Oscar she holds out her hand as if to push it away. She explains that Brando cannot accept the award because of “the treatment of American Indians today by the film industry”. The crowd interrupts her, half-applauding, half-booing. “Excuse me,” she says calmly, then continues: “And on television and movie reruns, and also with recent happenings at Wounded Knee.” At the time, Wounded Knee, in South Dakota, was the site of a month-long standoff between Native American activists and US authorities, sparked by the murder of a Lakota man. Littlefeather ends her speech begging that “in the future, our hearts and our understandings will meet with love and generosity”.

Why do we continuously get......."SCAM CALLS" trying to sell us this, or that, or something else?

Over and over again I get them....one variation or another...........................................................
............................Here is the total answer as to why we get them?...................................

_________________________________________________________________________________

These phone calls seem so stupid..Why do we keep getting them. They are always trying to sell us
something...anything..."A Vacation" .."Extended Warranty", "Home Improvements" .."Membership
to Something"..."Please Give a Donation" ...."You Will Be Rewarded if You Buy this" ETC, ETC, ETC,

...................Scam Calls Work on Some People..That is Why................................

If they didn't work, we wouldn't get these calls, like a very bad TV commercial that doesn't sell anything.
If it doesn't work, the company will not go to the trouble to make another and another...So we all
think these calls are so stupid and awful...Why do we keep getting them???

..."Because they work on some people"..........you don't think so?...Well the scammers
who make these calls know from experience that they work on..."some people"......................... so they go to the trouble to make more, and more, and more of them..&..."MORE OF THEM"
________________________________________________________________________________
You still don't think so?....Do some research on this topic...scam calls....and you will find that
these calls have been going on for a very long time....(maybe decades)...If they didn't work they
wouldn't try to sell us...Ok one more bit of proof....Can you buy or have you heard of.....

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large,,,,Updated 11:28 AM ET, Tue June 8, 2021

CNN) — In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper on Monday night, former President Barack Obama admitted that our democracy isn't something that we should just assume will always be there.

"My hope is that the tides will turn," Obama said of our current political moment. "But that does require each of us to understand that this experiment in democracy is not self-executing. It doesn't happen just automatically."
________________________________________________________________________________________

Yes. Nailed it. Especially this: "This experiment in democracy is not self-executing. It doesn't happen just automatically."

________________________________________________________________________________________
If the last four years of Donald Trump in the White House have taught us anything, it should be this: Democracy is durable, yes, but it is not immune to corruption and collapse. It requires care and maintenance -- from all of us.

And at the moment, it is quite clearly under attack by Trump and the forces aligned behind him.

Cheney: Trump inciting January 6 riot 'the most dangerous thing' a president has done

Axis File, with David Axelrod : CNN

https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/06/politics/cheney-trump-dangerous-thing-axe-files/index.html

CNN) — Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney accused former President Donald Trump of having committed the worst violation of a president's oath of office by inciting the January 6 Capitol insurrection -- and taking a jab at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy over his subsequent visit to Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

"I was stunned. I could not imagine any justification for doing that," Cheney said of McCarthy's visit to Trump during an episode of David Axelrod's "The Axe Files" podcast, which was taped Saturday afternoon as part of a University of Chicago alumni weekend event. "And I asked him why he had done it, and he said, well, he had just been in the neighborhood, essentially."

House Republicans ousted Cheney from her leadership position last month over her public rejection of Trump's lie that he won the election -- an ouster that McCarthy supported. Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, has repeatedly clashed with McCarthy, who has tried to align himself with Trump, and subsequently the Republican base, going into the 2022 midterms.

Trump Is Getting Worse

CNN:
Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large
Updated 11:07 AM ET, Thu June 3, 2021

https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/03/politics/donald-trump-2020-election-fraud/index.html

______________________________________________________________________________________
CNN's Dana Bash reported Thursday morning that former President Donald Trump is "more obsessed than ever with the 2020 election," with one former Trump aide telling her that the former President is only listening to "the bottom of the bottom of the crazies in the barrel."

That follows on reporting from The New York Times and The Washington Post that Trump is convinced that he will, at some point this summer, be reinstated as president once a variety of kooky and non-credible audits come to, uh, fruition.

"Trump has become so fixated on the audits that he suggested recently to allies that their success could result in his return to the White House this year, according to people familiar with comments he has made," wrote the Post.

Trump himself has been sending out a slew of statements on the topic -- blasting Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, both Republicans, for not doing more to support the ridiculous recount in Maricopa County. And on Monday, Trump blasted this out: "Great work is being done in Georgia revealing the Election Fraud of the 2020 Presidential Election. But, we must not allow ANYONE to compromise these ballots by leaving the building unsecured, which was done late Friday. Republicans and Patriots must protect this site and the Absentee Ballots."

Poop and You...and a simple easy suggestion.."Bananas" (information about bananas)

You can read this article at the link, if you desire, or read this recommendation: ...."Bananas"...Why Bananas?..(.first paragraph below only)

Bananas help make the poop regular and right sized. Further, they are cheap, easy to buy and available
almost everywhere. I read the story, & I eat one or two bananas every day.. Maybe you didn't know this: Bananas contain potassium, and potassium controls...."blood pressure:, and that is a very good thing

...Bananas are easy to eat, somewhat sweat, not difficult to swallow, always available, one of the cheapest fruits around, don't need to bake, soft, yellow, relatively fresh and so on.....but potassium helps control blood pressure, and that is a very good thing.... Keep it in mind when you are in the fresh fruit section of the food store.

(and if you don't believe, go on the internet, and look for positive aspects of eating bananas.)

__________________________________________________________________________________

This is the "poop article"..."Poop and You:.. NOT a banana article..
and as I said, eat a banana a day for your health...(can't hurt, can it?)
https://www.healthline.com/health/digestive-health/types-of-poop

a positive article about poop & bananas...well it is the lounge : isn't it?
