Anybody been watching the Senate discussion about Puerto Rico?

Can't help thinking that the Republicans are trying to do to Puerto Rico what they did to Michigan...

Yesterday

There was a shooting in a Denver office building where some friends work. They’re alright. Turns out it wasn’t a random shooting, he targeted only the woman who was shot, then took his own life. But getting that “we’re okay” note on Facebook was a tremendous relief, just the same.

Then, around dinnertime, a “safe” notification, again via Facebook, from a friend who presently lives and works in Istanbul. Whenever her schedule permits she likes to travel, and she’s no stranger to the Ataturk Airport. She’d been on many minds all day, and that small notification was profoundly welcome.

Sometimes good news brings tears. Yesterday it happened twice.

Suffice it to say that I am eternally proud to have been a small part of the campaign that booted her smarmy, sanctimonious ass out of Congress. Very thankful that they didn't see fit to interview her about Orlando. Horrifically unethical, never conceded the race to her replacement, left her campaign staffers unpaid, and 'donated' what was left of her campaign funds to the organization where she now works. Total skank.

Watching coverage of the mess called Brexit, listening to why or why not, even some expressions of regret and wishing for a do-over . . . and the commercial break goes to an ad with very British voiceover, extolling the wonders of the Jag-you-are, followed by an ad for a laxative . . . then coverage of Trump in Scotland with his Nazi balls and Florida lighthouse . . .
