At Lincoln’s feet
we gather as a people rejoicing in the
equality that spans our diversity.
We revel in the colorful spectrum of
hands joined in common purpose
and shared gratitude.
We marvel at how far we have come
as we gird ourselves for the
journey that remains.
We treasure the blessing of many
shoulders to help carry the burdens.
We cherish the voices that offer
different notes and thereby bring
harmony to our song.
We mingle tears of remembrance
with smiles of continuing hope.
And at Lincoln’s feet we lament the
absence of those who have chosen not
to walk this walk with us; their sorrow is
great, for they could have chosen
brotherhood instead.
Character
Republicans, as a group, today refused to join the rest of the nation in celebrating the idea that all of us really are "created equal." They needn't bother with that re-branding effort. They have now given crystal clear demonstration of the content of their own character -- or lack thereof.
That journalist is right.
Had the news on in the other room and heard one of the journalists opine (paraphrasing here) that:
No matter Obama's response to the situation in Syria, the right will condemn it and the Democrats will tear it apart.
He's right. And that's just damned sad.
Landscape
The red dots are active fracking wells, the green dots are permitted sites. The city of Greeley is hovering around 200 wells within city limits.
This is the landscape that dominates the proposed 51st state. Any guesses as to the funding behind the effort??
