For all the work done to GOTV and oust hIM

in spite of unprecedented turnout it’s the 11th hour and the media is ramping up to downplay a Democratic victory.

After Kimmel tonight I didn’t turn from ABC fast enough and the next thing I knew I was hearing Nightline’s “story” on Pennsylvania students who apparently are now the election equivalent of Groundhog Day. Their mock 2016 election led to predictions that Hillary would lose. This year’s mock had Biden winning but by a super-slim margin.

That was followed on by a story on the unprecedented number of women of color running for congressional office –- the majority featured were black or Hispanic Republicans.

I suppose it’s a story but in 2016 many women and people of color also ran and people are turning out in droves to vote. The media focus is as narrow as the zoomed in camera angles that make it seem like he has an overwhelming crowd at Trump super spreader events.

Jimmy Kimmel tonight ... made Jimmy take off his pants you had to see it. I’m sure it’ll be on Youtube.

Trump did every possible thing not to get reelected and acts as if he should

He, Barr, McConnell, Graham and Republicans’ in-your-face actions have resulted in nothing for the People.

From impeachment; to the ACA; to Social Security; to the supreme court; to coronavirus; to the trade war and tax/tariffs with China; to 400 untouched Democratic bills; to embracing dictators like John Ill and Putin and turning his back on diplomacy with the UN— this man has abused the very people who might have supported him. His incessant lies, lack of civility and absence of simple courtesy as a human being put him in perpetual DGAF mode long ago.

It’s so bad he pretty likely even faked coronavirus to get out of a debate because he absolutely has nothing to offer the American people or to show for his time on our dime.

How in the world does he think this sets him up to be re-appointed?

The fact that anybody does what they do and still thinks they deserve to stick around is either crazy [he is not] or believes that they don’t have to do anything of merit because they cannot lose.

This is the real problem. The foundation they’ve built that requires a Herculean effort to oust them must be destroyed.

We will kick him out but he will never go away completely.

Even if he’s defeated in the election he will spend the rest of his miserable attention-seeking life continuing to divide the country and say inappropriate things. And the complicit media will gladly oblige.

Ugh.

He said Trump shut down all travel from China. Not true.

Fair tax on the ballot

People are so grossly misinformed and that I had to stop what I was doing today when a friend called me confused about the fair tax amendment.

She was all set to vote “yes” — which is the correct vote — until she received conflicting mailers yesterday. Then today she read the actual mail in ballot itself which she’s going to drop off at the election board location tomorrow. The gobbledygook on the mail back ballot is unreal.

I promised to send her some bullet points which I asked her to share since she has a large group of people she interacts with on Facebook and social media. I am sharing those here too.

I hope you will also pass them on to as many as you can and I appreciate any feedback if you have suggestions they are welcome.

——-

Please 🙏🏽 vote YES for the FAIR Tax AMENDMENT.

💰 1st: It’s an amendment not a tax hike.
💰 2nd: The amendment lets the state tax millionaires and billionaires so they pay more taxes not you.
💰 3rd: When you file IRS taxes you pay a certain rate based on how much you make (for instance “single” or “married” pay different rates). With the amendment, there would be a category for millionaires and billionaires to pay a higher rate.
💰 4th: Illinois is in financial trouble due to the pandemic. State taxes will eventually go up because the federal government won’t help our state. You will pay more if you don’t vote yes so millionaires pay more instead.
💰 5th: Bottom line: Those who make more $$$ should pay more taxes. It’s only fair.

Share so everyone pays their fair share.

Trump campaign discussing plans to appoint own state electors, no matter the results

https://www.salon.com/2020/10/06/trump-campaign-discussing-plans-to-appoint-its-own-state-electors-no-matter-the-results-report/

A real nightmare scenario: The eight closest battleground states might send competing sets of electors to Congress

Snip

According to a Sept. 23 article in The Atlantic, campaign advisers to Trump, in conjunction with Republican state leaders, are preparing to test this theory. Sources in the Republican Party, at both state and national levels, say that the campaign is considering a plan to "bypass" the popular vote results and install its own electors in key battleground states where the legislatures are controlled by Republicans.

Snip

Republicans control both legislative bodies in the six closest battleground states: Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Of those six, both Arizona and Florida have Republican governors.

After the national election, the plan goes, the Trump campaign would cry foul about rampant fraud and demand that state legislators ignore the ballot tabulations and choose their electors directly. If the campaign can sustain doubt or confusion about the ballot count, legislators will feel more and more pressure to take up the responsibility before the Dec. 8 deadline when electors' names are sent to Congress for verification.
The Atlantic reported that a Trump campaign legal adviser said this effort would be framed as protecting the will of the people.
