Reid: GOP can avoid rules change if they confirm 7

Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Monday that Republicans must confirm at least seven presidential appointees they've been blocking if they want to avoid a controversial change in Senate rules as early as this week.

A compromise deal to confirm fewer than those seven will not suffice, Reid said only hours before a planned bipartisan gathering on the deeply divisive issue.

2013 Chairman’s Cabinet to Feature President George W. Bush

Why would anyone book this jerk?????

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Alberta Canada Sept 20 -27

The 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush will address the members of New York Life’s Chairman’s Cabinet during their meeting in Lake Louise, in Alberta, Canada in September.

President Bush served in the Oval Office for eight of the most consequential years in American history. Faced with challenges from a terrorist attack to a global financial crisis, he made difficult decisions that will shape the nation’s course and world affairs for decades to come. Many of these decisions are outlined in his best-selling book, Decision Points (2010), a strikingly personal and candid account revealing how and why he made the defining decisions in his presidency and personal life.

President Bush's leadership after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, was an inspiration to millions of Americans. His policies, while controversial at times, kept the country safe for more thanseven years and liberated more than 50 million people from tyranny.

Working with leaders in Congress and elsewhere, President Bush also raised standards and accountability in public education, launched historic efforts to fight HIV/AIDS and malaria in Africa, and strengthened America’s relationships with strategically important nations like India, China, and Japan.

In speaking with our Chairman’s Cabinet Agents, President Bush will offer candid insights on his eight years in the White House, his experiences with other world leaders, the nature of public leadership and decision making, and a wide variety of domestic and international issues.

Wonder if anyone will greet him in Canada
