Big Baby Trump Has Nixed Nearly Every Potential Debate Moderator

Now The Donald is escalating his debate phobia with suggestions that he will not participate unless his demands are met. Foremost among them is the authority to veto any moderator that he disapproves of (or more accurately, fears). So this may be a good time to take a look at who might satisfy Trump’s litmus test.

Who Does Trump Hate Today?

First of all, no one who works for CNN or MSNBC need apply. Trump has not consented to an interview on CNN since June 13, or on MSNBC since May 20. Just this morning he tweeted that “Constant phony reporting from failing @CNN turns everyone off.” What’s more, he has had a devastating falling out with his old pal on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough, who just penned an op-ed calling for the Republican Party to jettison their candidate.

The broadcast networks are out also, Trump has been flinging his juvenile nickname at the host of NBC’s Meet the Press for months. He calls him “Sleepy eyes Chuck Todd” and labeled Todd as “totally biased” against him. Trump wrote off ABC’s George Stephanopoulos as “a good friend” of the Clinton’s. Scott Pelley of CBS was deemed “disrespectful.”

So you may be thinking that this leaves Fox News. Not so fast. Trump has burned just about everyone on the network with the notable exception of their Senior Trump Fluffer, Sean Hannity. Trump said of Megyn Kelly that she “is the worst” and has a “terrible show.” He called Karl Rove a “total fool” and “a biased dope.” He said George Will is a “broken down political pundit” and “boring.” Chris Stirewalt was deemed “one of the dumbest political pundits on television.” Trump laughed off Charles Krauthammer as “a totally overrated clown,” “a loser,” and “a dummy.” And wrapping up the whole network for his disapproval, he tweeted that he was “having a really hard time watching Fox News.” Then he called on his followers to boycott the network.

Other prominent news outlets that Trump has sworn off (literally revoking the press credentials of most) include the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Politico, BuzzFeed, the Huffington Post, Fusion, and Univision.

#LoserDonald can't stop whining and crying about how the press is biased and unfair. Oh, and the election is sure to be rigged. What a buffoon. When you won the primary, was that rigged, too? Do you ever make any sense, or is the the whole world just anti-Trump?

Maybe your mouth is out to get you and your stupid brain is rigged! Or maybe the reason everyone hates you and the reason you're consistently polling under 40% is because you totally friggin' SUCK!!

Trump's other polling headache (enthusiasm & likely voters/registered voters)

Trump's other polling headache
Hillary Clinton's convention bounce isn't the only thing the GOP nominee should be worried about.
By STEVEN SHEPARD 08/11/16 05:17 AM EDT

That’s a big turnaround from four years ago, when despite President Barack Obama’s overall advantage among the electorate, Republicans and voters who said they supported former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney were the more enthusiastic and motivated group.

That phenomenon was clearly on display when a number of national pollsters began screening for likely voters in August and September 2012. Obama’s registered-voter lead over Romney immediately shrank among likely voters in all seven major national polls the first time they implemented a likely voter screen.

The movement among likely voters was occasionally jarring. Over the seven polls, Obama’s margin over Romney shrank by more than 4.4 points. A CNN/ORC poll in late August 2012 found Obama leading Romney by 9 points among registered voters, but only 2 points among likely voters. After the conventions that year, in early September, Obama’s 6-point lead among registered voters in an ABC News/Washington Post poll was slashed to just a point.

While only a handful of national public polls have started surveying likely voters, that doesn’t seem to be happening this year. Clinton led Trump by 8 points among registered voters in the ABC News/Washington Post poll released on Sunday, and 7 points among likely voters. A Monmouth University poll out Monday moved slightly in the other direction: Clinton led by 12 points among registered voters and 13 points among likely voters. (The new Bloomberg News likely-voter poll did not produce results for all registered voters.)

Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, said Trump’s numbers among likely voters are unlikely to grow until Republicans are motivated to start telling pollsters they will cast ballots. In Monmouth’s new poll, Murray said, 79 percent of Democratic voters said they were certain to vote, compared with only 61 percent of GOP voters.

tl/dr: Hillary is holding steady so far with a 7 or 8 point lead in either likely voters or registered voters, unlike in 2012. She is doing better in enthusiasm than President Obama did in 2012.

Penn Jillette on Donald Trump, “However bad you think he is, he’s worse”

He talks about his time on The Apprentice and how he is sure that he would have won on the final episode, except for the fact that he would not endorse Trump for President. Penn doesn't think Trump is very intelligent, just a good showman.

Lawsuit: Trump campaign failed to act after staffer pulled gun

A lawsuit filed by a former staffer on Donald J. Trump’s campaign for president claims the campaign’s then-North Carolina State Director pulled a gun on him and senior campaign officials refused to do anything about it.

The lawsuit was filed by Vincent Bordini, whom the complaint refers to as a loyal Trump Campaign staffer, in Mecklenburg County Superior Court on Wednesday. Donald J. Trump for President, Inc and Earl Phillip, the campaign’s former North Carolina State Director, are named as defendants in the lawsuit.

According to the complaint, Bordini and Phillip were driving in Phillip’s Jeep when Phillip “produced a pistol, put his right index finger on the trigger, and drove the barrel into Vincent’s knee cap.”

The complaint says the two men were driving to check on campaign volunteers at a hotel in Greenville, SC on February 13, 2016 during the GOP primary when the incident happened.

“Phillip pushed the barrel into Vincent’s knee. The barrel’s pressure crinkled Vincent’s blue jeans. Phillip ominously stared sidewise at Vincent while driving the Jeep down the road and the barrel into Vincent,” the complaint claims. “Vincent froze. Phillip’s gun was loaded and the safety was off. A bump in the road would likely result in a bullet hole, and worse, in Vincent’s knee.”

When Trump hinted gun rights supporters should shoot Hillary, he went from offensive to reckless. He must end his campaign. If he doesn't, the GOP needs to abandon him.

Read more:

I don't know what else they could mean by "Second Amendment solutions" other than shooting someone with a gun. It's a blatant dog whistle to the gun nuts.

Like when Sharron Angle, in a race for US Senate from Nevada, talked about "Second Amendment remedies". How can this be considered anything other than stochastic vocal terrorism?

It's like saying, hey that's a nice family you have there. It would be a shame if something were to happen to one of them. It's an implied threat. This needs to be taken very, very seriously.

Trump: 'Second Amendment people' could deal with Clinton

Source: CNN

Wilmington, North Carolina (CNN)Donald Trump set off a fierce new controversy Tuesday with remarks about the right to bear arms that were interpreted by many as a threat of violence against Hillary Clinton.

"Hillary wants to abolish -- essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know," Trump said.

He added: "But I tell you what, that will be a horrible day, if Hillary gets to put her judges in, right now we're tied."

Trump's ambiguous comments alarmed some political observers as to whether he was threatening her life or calling for increased political activity.

Robby Mook, Clinton's campaign manager, issued a two-sentence statement in response to Trump.
"This is simple -- what Trump is saying is dangerous. A person seeking to the be president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way," he said.

Hillary Clinton Is One of America's Most Honest Politicians

Mother Jones
Kevin Drum
Aug 1, 2016

Jim Geraghty says that Hillary Clinton is a serial liar:

"We know she lies when she’s cornered. Running from snipers in the Balkans, being “dead broke” upon leaving the White House, “all my grandparents” immigrated to America, her tale of trying to join the Marines, her claim she never received or sent any material that was classified on her private e-mail system, her claim to have started criticizing the Iraq War before Barack Obama did… she lies, and she lies, and she lies."

Seriously, Jim? I'll give you the Balkans thing. That was a lie. But the others aren't. The Clintons were in debt when they left the White House. Hillary's great-grandparents were immigrants—she was off by a generation. Nobody knows if she ever tried to join the Marines, but there's no evidence she didn't. She didn't knowingly send classified material on her private email system, and it's hardly fair to judge her by the fact that some of her emails were retroactively classified. And her statement about the Iraq War was strained (she was talking about criticism after Obama joined the Senate), but it's typical political exaggeration, not a lie.

Look: all politicians lie sometimes. That includes Hillary Clinton. But as the chart on the right shows, Hillary is one of the most honest politicians on the national stage. Here's a similar conclusion from the New York Times.

Donald J. Trump - Percent Mostly False and worse - 76% Percent True or Mostly True - 7%
Hillary Clinton v - Percent Mostly False and worse - 28% Percent True or Mostly True - 51%

The meme that Hillary is dishonest or can't be trusted is invented, sexist, right-wing horseshit. It needs to be fought. If we don't fight back against it with the facts, the thugs will continue to spread this manure.

In the immortal words of John Oliver, "Don't bring feelings to a fucking fact fight." The facts show that Hillary is one of the most, if not the most, honest politicians out there. Arm yourself with facts and let people know about them. The future of our country is at stake.
