"The Exorcist." The debate, President Obama and Romney...

I watched IMO, one of the most terrifying movies ever made. "The Exorcist." The quote below from the movie reminded me of someone...You be the judge.

Father Merrin from the movie the "The Exorcist"

"We may ask what is relevant but anything beyond that is dangerous. He is a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don't listen to him. Remember that - do not listen. "

Perhaps Obama's advisers should have given him the same advice, or maybe the network could have had a little crawl on the bottom of the screen warning viewers.

People say Mitt "doesn't have a core", yes he does.. It's just rotten through and through. It's not the fact that he lies It's the ease in which he does it. We expect politicians to bend the truth and make stuff up, but not like Romney did during the debate.

Everyone knows he lied, yet the right-wing doesn't care as long as it gives him a "win." That says more about them , than it does about him. The lies were brazen and breathtaking. I would sit the election out if I knew Obama repeatedly lied during the debate. I can't and won't vote for someone that I cannot trust. I explained it to my daughter like this..

Mom I got an A on a test but I copied the paper of the kid sitting next to me. Right-wing parent: getting an A is all that matters. That's the message that the MSM and the right-wing is sending out.

From the Onion..

"Romney Proudly Explains How He's Turned Campaign Around"

"For weeks many Beltway insiders had written off the Romney campaign as dead, saying the candidate had dug himself into too deep a hole with too little time to recover. However, with a month to go before ballots are cast, Romney has pulled even with President Obama, and the former Massachusetts governor credits his rejuvenated campaign to one, singular tactic: lying a lot.

“I’m lying a lot more, and my lies are far more egregious than they’ve ever been,” a smiling Romney told reporters while sitting in the back of his campaign bus, adding that when faced with a choice to either lie or tell the truth, he will more than likely lie. “It’s a strategy that works because when I lie, I’m essentially telling people what they want to hear, and people really like hearing things they want to hear. Even if they sort of know that nothing I’m saying is true.”

“It’s a freeing strategy, really, because I don’t have to worry about facts or being accurate or having any concrete positions of any kind,” Romney added.

Romney said he is telling at least 80 percent more lies now than he was two months ago. Buoyed by his strong debate performance, which by his own admission included 40 or 50 instances of lying in one 90-minute period, the candidate said he will continue to “just openly lie [his] ass off” until the Nov. 6 election.

Whether it’s a senior citizen, military family, working mother, businessman, or middle-class American, Romney said, he will lie to every single one of them as often as he can if that’s what it takes to win the presidency.

“The best part is, it’s really easy to lie,” said Romney, who added that voicing whatever untruths come into his mind at any given moment is an easy thing to do because all it requires is opening his mouth and talking. “For example, if someone accuses me of having a tax plan that makes no discernable sense, I just lie and say that I do have a tax plan that makes sense. I also say there is a study that backs up my plan. See that? Simple. None of it is remotely true, of course, but now we’re moving on to the next topic because people are usually too afraid to ask me straight up if I’m lying, because that is apparently not something you ask someone who is running for president.”

Moreover, Romney said, if anyone does accuse him of lying, he will simply say he is not lying, which he noted is just an extension of the overall strategy.

“So, if I’m talking to retirees,” Romney continued, “I lie and say I’ll fight tooth and nail to save Medicare, which causes them to applaud. On the other hand, if I’m talking to the party base, I lie and say we have to cut Medicare, which causes them to applaud. So, you see, my goal here is to get everyone applauding for me, because if everyone is clapping their hands, standing on their feet, and shouting my name, that means they like me and will vote for me.”

Romney’s campaign advisers said that they adopted the strategy of lying a lot after realizing several things: (1) Lying sounds good, especially when the truth sounds bad, (2) the American media doesn’t care if you lie, (3) the American people don’t care if you lie, and (4) it’s okay to lie if you are very, very desperate to become the president of the United States.

“If we’re going to be carried into the White House, it’s going to have to be on a wave of lies,” Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades said. “Most important, Mitt is comfortable when he is lying because then he doesn’t have to say anything bad. And in this last month it’s important that we just let Mitt be Mitt, whoever the hell that is.”

“It’s late in the game, but this campaign has finally found its groove,” Rhoades added. “And that groove is lying. Bald-faced, make-no-apologies, dirty, filthy lying.”

According to Romney, amidst all the lies, there is only one thing that remains true.

“I literally have no clue where I stand on any single issue at this point,” said Romney, adding that when it comes to women’s rights, gay rights, health care, the middle class, the economy, or the U.S. military, all he knows is how to lie about them. “I understand what other people want. And what I’ve learned, especially in the past week, is that in order to be a viable candidate for the White House, that’s all you really need to know.”

Following the interview, Romney told various reporters that, if elected, he would save the newspaper industry."

17 of Mitt's 24 foreign policy advisers worked for the Bush administration.

The same folks who sold the American people the war in Iraq, are trying to sell them Mitt Romney. I think I'll pass.

You really need to check yourself,

if you know that your candidate lied and you don't have a problem with it. I would sit the election out if Obama repeatedly lied during the debate. I can't and won't vote for someone that I can't trust. To the MSM: Just because you aggressively say that 2+2=500.. doesn't make it so, and doesn't make your argument convincing.

Romney didn't come prepared with "zingers," he came prepared with LIES!

From the time Romney became the nominee, I've said the ONLY way he can win a debate against President Obama is; if he lied, and the moderator didn't call him out. If you go by who lied and was evasive Mitt won, if you go by who was honest and gave specifics President Obama won.

It's stomach- turning to hear the MSM say Romney" lied," but he won. It is damn near impossible to win a debate with a liar, because no road is too low for them to travel down. Your arguments are based on facts and their arguments are based on lies.

This is the age of reality TV, folks are used to lame reality shows, where belligerent drunks cause fights. The person they're trying to pick a fight with may walk away, or stand there and watch them self-destruct. Does that mean that the person who didn't engage in the fight lost.. no of course not.

When the dust has settled and the fact-checkers finish combing through the debate, Romney will be revealed for the liar that he is. Romney is like a used care salesman, he'll say anything to close the deal. You know the local ads for lawyers, asking if you've ever been hurt in an accident, that's who Romney and Ryan remind me of.

Folks it, seems like the truth doesn't matter to those on the right, winning does. There's no way in hell I would support someone who stood on the stage and lied with such ease. If I did, I would have to check my moral compass. This was a warm up.. CHILL! The fight continues.

TAX BREAKS FOR SHIPPING JOBS OVERSEAS

"Romney challenged Obama's statement that companies can take a tax deduction for shipping jobs overseas. " "Look, I've been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you are talking about. I maybe need to get a new accountant. The idea that you get a break for shipping jobs overseas is simply not the case," Romney said.

What Obama was actually describing was a tax break for ordinary business expense, including deductions allowed for a company if it closes its plant in the United States and moves it to another country.

In July, Senate Republicans blocked a Democratic proposal that would have provided a tax credit to companies that move production back to the United States. It also would have ended the tax break that companies can claim when closing a domestic plant, even if operations are moving abroad.

DOES OBAMA'S PLAN CUT $716 BILLION FROM MEDICARE?

"Romney repeatedly cited a figure of $716 billion - saying Obama would cut that amount from Medicare to fund his healthcare overhaul. That claim has been rejected by Democrats and independent analysts.
Obama's healthcare law would slow payment increases for hospitals and insurers, something it views as a savings rather than as a cut to Medicare benefits or programs. It does not change the basket of benefits offered to patients.

The $716 billion figure is a Congressional Budget Office estimate of how much the law would save in Medicare spending from 2013 to 2022, compared with what would have occurred without reform. Those funds would be used to help expand health coverage to more than 30 million uninsured Americans.

Obama's Affordable Care Act also offers new benefits to the elderly, such as prescription drug rebates and discounts, and preventive tests including mammograms and cancer screenings without copays or deductibles under Medicare Part B, which covers visits to doctors' offices and outpatient clinics."

Speaking out

The Christan's I know are just as diverse as our country. Some are gay some are straight, from all different races, politically parties and genders. We all know that the troublemakers in any group always get the most attention from the media.

The God that I believe in teaches me to take care of the poor, reach out to the oppressed, and to never lie, cheat, steal or use his name in a divisive way. Some within the republican party, have used fear, bigotry and hate in order to gain power. They use Christianity the same way that Bin Laden used Islam, which is truly despicable.

People often ask why won't the "Moderate Muslim's" speak out against the extremists. I ask why won't "Moderate Christian's speak out against nuts like Pat Roberson, James Dobson, and all of the other people within the GOP who have distorted the teachings of Christ?

A wise person will learn to separate religious people from religious extremists.

Mitt: "47 percent believe that they are "entitled to health care, food, and housing"

Jesus Christ believed they're entitled to those things too.

August 31, 2012

Mitt wanted to know if we're better off than we were four years ago, ask..

The families of our troops who came home from Iraq.

Ask the parents of sick children with pre-existing conditions who now have coverage and young people who can stay on their parents insurance until age 26, because of the Affordable Care Act.

Ask Gay and Lesbian Americans, who can now serve their country proudly and openly, because DADT was tossed out.

Ask the children who were born in America, but their parents are illegal immigrants. Since they no longer have to live in fear of being deported.

Ask the families of the victims of 9-11. Since Bin Laden is no longer among the living.

Ask women who weren't getting equal pay for equal work, Since the first bill President Obama signed into law was the Fair Pay Act.

Ask anyone who has traveled outside the United States, since Obama was elected America's image has improved.

The economy is moving at a snails-pace, but the Republican Congress has rejected every proposal and every idea that the President has presented them to get the economy moving. It took eight years to get us into this mess and it may take eight years to get us out. There isn't any difference between Mitt's economic & foreign policies and the Bush administrations.

If Bush deserved two terms, Obama definitely deserves another term.

Today I switched parties..

I became a Democrat. For the last 28 years I was a registered Independent. Which means I used to get robo calls and other political materials from both parties. I realize that I'll never agree 100 percent with either party, BUT the republican party has moved so far to the right, there's no way I'd ever vote for a republican. All of the moderates have been run out of the party, and I don't see them making a comeback any time soon. It feels kind of weird to finally say... that I'm a liberal Democrat.. Actually, I'm a proud liberal Democrat.

About rainlillie

I think a lot of people get stuck in a certain mindset, they won't allow themselves to think outside of their party affiliation. I try not to do that, I'm all about what's fair, what's right and what's just. Liberals have to make it known that we are not the "anything goes" crowd. Yes, we believe in family and some of us even believe in God. We also believe in common decency and human rights for all people. Some of us believe that parents should have a say in the lives of their underage children. The perception of liberals has been twisted and distorted for far too long. Which is why those on the right use the term "liberal" like it's a four letter word. My mother is the type of liberal I would like to be. A God loving, family values, Pro choice, Pro-America, liberal.
