A 7-year-old girl was shot and killed Sunday morning while riding in a car with her mom and three sisters. Deputies said the family of five was leaving a Walmart parking lot when an unidentified man in a red pickup truck pulled up to the side of their car and started shooting.
The 7-year-old was killed instantly. The mother was shot in the arm and taken to Ben Taub Hospital.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez identified the girl as Jazmine Barnes. Her mother is 30-year-old LaPorsha Washington.
Another young girl was injured by shattered glass. The two other sisters were unharmed. The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s and has a beard.

Better late than never? Orange Julius and the Mrs. finally visit troops in Iraq
After he missed a solemn WW1 memorial on account of weather, then after he used a stubborn visit to Arlington as a Christmas photo op, and of course, after he insulted a gold star family and a POW, not to mention the fact that he never served and his bone spurs are phony.....I guess the least he could do 
was carry his ass out to a base and present himself for another photo op and some much-needed adoration.

Federal prosectors are investigating President Donald Trump’s inauguration committee for possible misspending of donations, sources familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal on Thursday.
The alleged investigation by the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office into the record $107 million raised for the inauguration includes probes into whether the committee’s biggest donors gave money in exchange for access to Trump’s administration or political influence, some of the sources said.
CNN later confirmed the report.
Such misspending by the committee, which was registered as a nonprofit, could constitute a violation of federal corruption laws. If true, it marks the latest legal probe into whether members of Trump’s inner circle may have inappropriately spent money associated with his campaign.

Maria Butina, an accused Russian spy who nuzzled up to the National Rifle Association before the 2016 election, appears to have reached a plea deal with the Justice Department, according to a new court filing in her criminal case.
Her attorneys and prosecutors filed a two-page request on Monday for a "change of plea" hearing before a federal judge as soon as Tuesday. "The parties have resolved this matter," the filing in DC federal court said Monday morning. Butina's case was brought by federal prosecutors in DC and not by Robert Mueller's team in the special counsel's office.
A plea hearing has not yet been set. The notice Monday comes after several weeks of hints that Butina might negotiate an end to her case -- and after bumps in the case where federal prosecutors, at the height of attention on Russia's influence in American politics, accused the former graduate student of infiltrating Republican organizations in order to advance Russian interests.
