Senator Charles Schumer...

...in a recent hearing confirmed that "the people" in the 2nd amendment is the same as "the people" in the other amendments.
He then further clarified that the first amendment doesn't protect the right to yell "fire" in a crowded theater and that the 2nd amendment doesn't mean there can't be some kind of restriction for the second.

I see the expanded background checks stopping people like

Loughner. The deranged lunatic loner type(as long as they are in the NICS system). They are less likely to have the connections to purchase stolen guns.

I see it having little effect on big city, gang banger crime.

If you want to stop that you need to legalize drugs.

The problem as I see it is...

...when does a person cross the line? Obviously when this guy was talking about killing kids he had crossed the line but what words or actions happened prior to that? Does a person acting 'eccentric' cross the line?

Certainly when a person makes an unveiled threat

against a child they have crossed the line and should be punished.
The same threat against a pet could get the response "the dog would come in my yard and growl at me".

Probably none, but...

....they seem to be handling this properly now, at least.
They haven't tried to 'storm trooper' their way in. I think we all know how that would turn out.

When they see me they might think it's my finger...

...but I just like to pee outside.

I agree...

...I just wish someone would tell me how it would work or what it would cost.

Are you talking about legal concealed carry or...

....illegal concealed carry? I'm sure illegal concealed carry results in quite a few murders.

Death penalty injustice, not such a new idea...

...I was surfing archive.com and found a 1950's series called The Court of Last Resort. It is about a group of people who try to determine if someone on death was actually innocent. It was interesting to watch.

It's the equivalent of:

double secret probation
