Is anyone familiar with Nathaniel Rateliffe and the Night Sweats?

My son introduced me to his music over the weekend. Not bad.

North Korea taps GOP analysts to better understand Trump and his messages

BERN, Switzerland ó North Korean government officials have been quietly trying to arrange talks with Republican-linked analysts in Washington, in an apparent attempt to make sense of President Trump and his confusing messages to Kim Jong Unís regime.

The outreach began before the current eruption of threats between the two leaders but will probably become only more urgent as Trump and Kim have descended into name-calling that, many analysts worry, sharply increases the chances of potentially catastrophic misunderstandings.

The civil rights and Vietnam protests changed America.

Today they might be illegal.

Whatís the state of free speech in America?

----

Itís not just the problems on college campuses where high-profile speakers havenít been allowed to talk. Itís not just what happened in Charlottesville, where a counterprotester was run over and killed. Itís not just President Trumpís insistent call for the firings or suspensions of NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem to protest police violence.

An insidious problem also is developing in dozens of states where legislatures are considering ó and sometimes approving ó new laws that restrict free speech.

Did Trump breach the U.N. Charter?

President Trumpís threat to destroy North Korea provoked a debate among scholars of international law about whether he had violated a tenet of the United Nations Charter.

Article 2(4) of the Charter says countries should ďrefrain in their international relations from the threat or use of forceĒ against another country, and grants exceptions only for instances sanctioned by the Security Council or acts of self-defense.

In this case, there was no authorization from the Security Council, so the question is: Was Mr. Trump justified on the basis of self-defense?

Donald Trump Jr. Gives Up Secret Service Protection, Seeking Privacy

Source: The New York Times

Donald Trump Jr., the presidentís eldest son, has elected to forgo protection by the Secret Service, according to a senior administration official.

The agency ceased protecting Mr. Trump, who lives in New York City and is an executive at the Trump Organization, last week. Mr. Trump, an avid camper and hunter, is said to be seeking more privacy than he can expect with a contingent of agents accompanying him everywhere.

It was not immediately clear whether the decision applied to his family; he and his wife, Vanessa, have five children. Mr. Trump could not be reached, and the White House did not return a message seeking comment.

But giving up protection of even the younger Mr. Trump alone will provide relief for the Secret Service, which has had its work force and resources strained by the size and lifestyle of the Trump family.
