Texas is a republican paradise ... a 2nd amendment heaven

Governor Abbott has a lot to be proud about.

The mall shooting, running over people @ the border, a shooting @ a prom party, and now a
shooting on a commuter train*. All this in the last 72 hours.

My hometown Columbus, OH 3 dead, several others injured as police investigate 4 shooting scenes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Two people have died and numerous others were injured in four separate shootings spanning four locations across Columbus early Saturday morning.

Several victims remained in critical condition at a local hospital later Saturday morning, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said.

Police received their first reports of gunfire at about 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of High Street. After officers arrived at that scene, "more shots were fired a short distance away from the original location," according to a statement from Columbus police.

That statement said officers responded to that second scene and returned fire. Multiple shooting victims between those two scenes were found, although the police statement did not specify who shot whom.

Bryant said her team didn't know if any of the shootings were connected to each other, but she did opine about the prevalence of guns on Columbus streets.

"We need to figure out how do we get control of this gun situation?" she asked. "Why is everybody walking around with a weapon?"

I hate the NRA, republicans, and all those damn guns. I have hunted, fished, camped and owned guns for years
but it is time for America to get rid of them.

So did Leonard Leo bribe Clarence Thomas via Kellyanne Conway & Ginni?

And isn't bribery illegal? This payments also happened before the Supreme Court struck down key parts
of the 1964 Voting Rights Act (or was it the Civil Rights Act?). And after that how many millions of people
were removed from voter rolls across America? And by the removal of those voters, the Electoral College,
and massive Russian rat fucking did we get President Donald Trump?

Please tell me that I'm just bat shit crazy and this is all a bad dream. Or that the DoJ is going to open up an
investigation into the bribery of C. and Ginni Thomas.

Washington Post:

Judicial activist directed fees to Clarence Thomas’s wife, urged ‘no mention of Ginni’

Conservative judicial activist Leonard Leo arranged for the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to be paid tens of thousands of dollars for consulting work just over a decade ago, specifying that her name be left off billing paperwork, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post.

In January 2012, Leo instructed the GOP pollster Kellyanne Conway to bill a nonprofit group he advises and use that money to pay Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the documents show. The same year, the nonprofit, the Judicial Education Project, filed a brief to the Supreme Court in a landmark voting rights case.

Leo, a key figure in a network of nonprofits that has worked to support the nominations of conservative judges, told Conway that he wanted her to “give” Ginni Thomas “another $25K,” the documents show. He emphasized that the paperwork should have “No mention of Ginni, of course.”

Conway’s firm, the Polling Company, sent the Judicial Education Project a $25,000 bill that day. Per Leo’s instructions, it listed the purpose as “Supplement for Constitution Polling and Opinion Consulting,” the documents show.

In all, according to the documents, the Polling Company paid Thomas’s firm, Liberty Consulting, $80,000 between June 2011 and June 2012, and it expected to pay $20,000 more before the end of 2012. The documents reviewed by The Post do not indicate the precise nature of any work Thomas did for the Judicial Education Project or the Polling Company.

I expect to see Roger Stone trying to leave the country ASAP because I don't think some of
these Proud Boys want to grow old and or die in prison. My 2 cents. And I think other charges
might be coming too.
May 4, 2023

2 other charges that it looks like the Proud Boys have been found guilty of ...

... besides seditious conspiracy.

4 proud boys members found Guilty of Seditious Conspiracy

Trying to stop the government from carrying out its laws

Trying to stop Congress from doing its Constitutional Duties

And then more individual charges per person could be in the works.

Tucker, "It's not how white men fight."

Please Tucker grew up as a pampered rich kid who went to elite boarding schools and
who a day of honest hard labor would kill him wants us believe that he was some kind of
bad ass who was in fights?

**********

"A couple of weeks ago, I was watching video of people fighting on the street in Washington. A group of Trump guys surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living s*** out of him. It was three against one, at least. Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It's not how white men fight.

"Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they'd hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn't good for me. I'm becoming something I don't want to be.

"The Antifa creep is a human being. Much as I despise what he says and does, much as I'm sure I'd hate him personally if I knew him, I shouldn't gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed. If I don't care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?"

What a punk he watched some pro Trump thugs jump and beat up somebody and he was happy?

BTW If Tucker would like to get busy I am .... I can't say it.

USA Today: Dwyane Wade says his family left Florida because they 'would not be accepted'

During Thursday's episode of "Headliners" with Rachel Nichols, Wade revealed that his decision to leave Florida stemmed from state legislators proposing anti-LGBTQ policies.

"That's another reason why I don't live in that state," Wade, 41, said in an exclusive preview shared by People.

Wade, the father of 15-year-old Zaya, who came out as transgender in 2020, said "my family would not be accepted or feel comfortable there." Wade is also father to Zaire, 21, Xavier, 9, and Kaavia, his four-year-old daughter with wife Gabrielle Union.

The three-time NBA champion has championed the LGBTQ+ community since revealing his daughter's announcement on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in February 2020.

"This is her life every day. This is no game to us," Wade said on "Good Morning America" at the time. "We're all about protecting her heart, we're about protecting her joy and to do that, we have to support her."

Washington Post: The 'no mow' movement could transform our lawns

Across the Lower 48 states, there are about 40 million acres of lawn, according to a 2005 NASA estimate derived from satellite imaging. These spaces could be havens for pollinating critters, many of which are facing widespread habitat loss. Having more food sources available for pollinators in the early spring is especially critical for their survival.

Transforming a traditional turf lawn into a more pollinator-friendly area is probably easier than most people might think — and it doesn’t have to look wild, says Melinda Whicher, a supervisory horticulturalist at the Smithsonian Gardens. “There are plenty of very low-growing flowers where you can still mow and the flowers will still be there.”

Still, creating a pollinator lawn will take a bit more thought than just letting grass grow freely, experts say.

“If you have a traditional lawn, letting the grass grow to a foot tall or whatever it would be at the end of May is no value whatsoever,” says Susan Carpenter, native plant garden curator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum. Grass that long could be harmful to lawn health and become a mowing nightmare.
