Scott Walker suggests Biden's Wisconsin lead too big for recount

Former Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker suggested in a tweet Wednesday that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s lead in the crucial battleground state was too steep to be overturned in a recount.

“After recount in 2011 race for WI Supreme Court, there was a swing of 300 votes,” Walker, a Trump ally, tweeted. “After recount in 2016 Presidential race in WI, @realDonaldTrump numbers went up by 131. As I said, 20,000 is a high hurdle.”

Biden has now received more votes for president than any other candidate in U.S. history

Former Vice President Joe Biden has now received more votes for president than any other candidate in U.S. election history, officially surpassing former President Barack Obama's 2008 popular vote numbers around 8 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

The news follows reports on Tuesday night that the 2020 election was shaping up to have the highest voter turnout since 1908, when 65 percent of eligible Americans voted, The New York Times reports. The country was on track for around 160 million votes this year, which would put the eligible turnout rate at around 67 percent.

'He woke us up.' Why Detroit Democrats say they're seeing higher Black turnout this year

Voters were lined up outside Detroit's Adams-Butzel recreation center as soon as it opened its doors at 7 a.m. Tuesday, which seemed like a good sign to the Rev. Gary Bennett.

The recreation center, on Detroit's west side, is home to six precincts that saw their voter numbers drop by more than 500 between 2012 and 2016 — part of a citywide plunge in voter turnout that played a role in Donald Trump's narrow win in Michigan four years ago.

"He woke us up. He woke everybody up," Bennett said, noting that he's seen more people voting this year.

"Everybody's running scared because they don't want Trump to have another four years," Bennett said. "The elephant is in the room and you can smell the peanuts on his breath."

Judge rejects Trump campaign lawsuit over Clark County (Nevada) mail ballot counting

Source: Fox Reno

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Nevada judge has rejected a suit from President Donald Trump's re-election campaign that sought to alter the counting of mail-in ballots in Clark County.

The order released Monday denies an emergency petition filed by the Trump campaign, the Nevada Republican Party and a plaintiff named Fred Kraus.

The plaintiffs filed their lawsuit in Carson City District Court last week against Clark County Registrar Joe Gloria and Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske.

They alleged that observers were not able to fully watch Clark County's ballot processing, that some steps compromised ballot secrecy and that the signature-checking software had a "low tolerance" that would lead to most signatures being accepted.

Trump supporter replaces neighbor's stolen Biden yard sign in Wisconsin

Source: NY Daily News

A rare sight in today’s polarizing times: Adults acting like adults.

A Trump supporter in Wisconsin replaced his neighbor’s Joe Biden sign after an unidentified thief stole it just days before the election, the two men told a local Fox affiliate.

Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann, one of many residents displaying a Trump-Pence sign in the predominantly Republican neighborhood, said he was not pleased to learn that someone yanked a neighbor’s political sign just a few doors down from his home.

“l thought, ‘That’s just not right,’” he told Fox6 News. “Although we are Trump supporters, we love our neighbors and want them to be able to exercise their freedom of speech just like everybody else.”
