Mira
Mira's JournalWhat I got today - for Mother's Day
A long time ago I adopted a then 16 year old girl and took her out of an orphanage.
We treasure each other, and she brought me this to celebrate the day.
NOW I KNOW what was the glorious impetus for the Ukraian flag. Take a look
Today, in a humongous local hospital, visiting a close family member, I got seriously lost in the hallways. I always study the art on the walls, it's second nature. I came across this one, and took the photo.
I explained to the doctor who came along that the reason I took the photo was because they are the state flowers of Ukraine and they exported the most sunflower oil on earth. He did not know, and was really happy to learn. He said his church had gathered $10 000 for Ukraine, and he himself was financially aiding two hospitals there.
He then helped me find my way.
Only later when I showed the photo to my grandson who came for a visit as well, did it dawn on me when he immediately said: this photo shows the origins of their flag.
Enjoy:
From all the world and beyond
This photo was sent to me from Berlin from a Bonus Sister who got it from a friend in New Zealand.

** I ** figured ** out ** what my problem was with posting the photos
I got my pc guru to look over the possibilities. He sat with my computer and watched me show what I had attempted, that i posted the preamble words and then the links to the photos all at the same time and that messed up the sizes. Though it did not do that in the preliminary threads.
When he removed from the text any of the things I had specified in it to make the text look better, such as "bold" and "excerpt" it all posted just fine.
Who knew?
Even for the guru is was a hit and miss and
it did not even take
it was just a fluke.
I was going to make it up to all of you and sign up for another stint as host but noticed all slots are filled.
So I owe you one, and will be on standby.
***NEW*** link to finals "Part of a Whole" with new annotations
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216349364mnhtnbb kindly took my links and re-posted the thread for the finals.
I got a new computer in the last week, and had to adjust a lot of settings because of my problems with vision, and i believe that may have made all the photos so large.
I have no clue how to undo that - especially because then I may not be able to see what I'm doing.
I heartily apologize to all who were disturbed by this, understandably so, and wish again it would not have happened.
And I thank mnhtnbb for stepping in and helping out from the bottom of my heart.
