Politico reporter: House GOP leaders say they will be formally whipping against the Dems' USPS bill

NEW: House GOP leaders just informed lawmakers that they’ll be formally whipping AGAINST the Dems’ USPS bill, per sources on the conference call.

Congress reporter for @Politico & author of HUDDLE. Chi till I die. My party trick is identifying lawmakers by the back of their heads. *RTs ≠ endorsements*

x-post Jewish Group: FBI tweeting out "Protocols of Learned Elders of Zion" with NO context, wtf

(Jewish Group) FBI tweeting out "Protocols of Learned Elders of Zion" with NO context, wtf

Hello, servants of the people over at @FBI. What's, uh, going on over there? Why is one of your official accounts tweeting out century-old anti-Semitic conspiracy theories?

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Russian: Протоколы сионских мудрецов ) or The Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of Zion is a fabricated antisemitic text purporting to describe a Jewish plan for global domination. The hoax, which was shown to be plagiarized from several earlier sources, some not antisemitic in nature,[1] was first published in Russia in 1903, translated into multiple languages, and disseminated internationally in the early part of the 20th century.

Henry Ford funded printing of 500,000 copies that were distributed throughout the United States in the 1920s. Distillations of it were assigned by some German teachers, as if factual, to be read by German schoolchildren after the Nazis came to power in 1933,[2] despite having been exposed as fraudulent by the British newspaper The Times in 1921 and the German Frankfurter Zeitung in 1924. It remains widely available in numerous languages, in print and on the Internet, and continues to be presented by neofascist, fundamentalist and antisemitic groups as a genuine document. The political scientist Stephen Bronner described it as "probably the most influential work of antisemitism ever written ... what the Communist Manifesto is for Marxism, the fictitious Protocols is for antisemitism".[3]

ex-Republican operative Steve Schmidt slaps down FL Senator Rick Scott (aka Voldemort) !

oh yea, Scott almost got his ass charged with massive Medicare fraud:

Scott was pressured to resign as chief executive of Columbia/HCA in 1997. During his tenure as chief executive, the company defrauded Medicare, Medicaid and other federal programs. The Department of Justice ultimately fined the company $1.7 billion in what was at the time the largest health care fraud settlement in U.S. history.[8] Scott was not charged with a crime.[9]

Rick Scott 'oversaw the largest Medicare fraud' in U.S. history, Florida Democratic Party says
First, Gov. Rick Scott scared the bejesus out of seniors with an online ad claiming that Medicare rate cuts would lead them to lose access to their doctors, hospitals and preventive care.

Then, the Florida Democratic Party fired back at Scott, issuing a press release that called Scott "the ultimate Medicare thief."

The Democrats were referring to Scott’s prior tenure as CEO of Columbia/HCA about a decade ago, when the hospital company was fined $1.7 billion for Medicare fraud.

"Rick Scott is saying Democrats are committing Medicare robbery, when in fact he's the ultimate Medicare thief. He lost the right to accuse Democrats of raiding Medicare when he oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in the nation's history. Rick Scott's company stole money that should have gone to health care for seniors," said Florida Democratic Party spokesman Joshua Karp in the Feb. 25 press release.

Politifact rating: Mostly true

Former DHS Chief of Staff (Miles Taylor): "(Liaison) has been tasked with digging up dirt on me"

Hearing @DHSgov White House Liaison has been tasked with “digging up dirt” on me. No worries—I can take it! But another possible case of WH using DHS and taxpayer $$ for political purposes. Cc: @DHSOIG

Color me not surprised at all. Stay strong, Mr. Taylor, and thank you for your honest testimony !

Sincere question about Trump and Republican-controlled election supervisors

We have already seen how Trump is trying to destroy mail-in voting. Hopefully we can reverse the damage to the USPS and restore it to 2019 levels.

With in-person traditional voting, we all know that in lower income precincts, historically there have not been enough voting machines and those voters are forced to stand in very long lines, a scary prospect during a pandemic.

Is there any evidence, so far, that the Republican-controlled election supervisors are trying to further limit voting machines in lower income precincts and perhaps other precincts ? I can easily see Trump-consigliere Barr making phone calls to those supervisors (on the state level) and "hinting" or outright asking that they limit the machines or, ooops, providing faulty machines that break.

Anyone read anything so far ? I do hope, probably naively, that they do not do this. Thanks in advance.

Fired data scientist (Rebekah Jones) to DeSantis: "That's a lie"

I have not seen her evidence yet.

Days when the Supervisors of Election will mail out absentee/mail-in ballots

Presidential Preference Primary Election: February 6 – 13
Primary Election: July 9 - July 16
General Election: September 24 – October 1

Rubio is a gigantic f*******g liar....specifically the latest SSIC report on Russia and Trump

eta: Even if we assume Rubio is accurate about the Steele dossier thing, big f*****g deal. Talk about trivial partisan cherrypicking. More like nitpicking.
