Do you think this is just trashy?

I took my first vacation in several years to Atlantis in the Bahamas last Sunday to Thursday. I called my "friend", (who is a drug addict, (pills) and who smokes 2 packs of Marlboro a day....only said because he is on disability and spends all his money on these 2 things), and offered him $50 each way to drive me the 2 hour drive to Ft. Lauderdale and I would give him the use of my car while I was away. I thought that was a good deal because my car is a Camry which gets good gas mileage and his is a big old truck which gets shitty gas mileage. So I was going to give him a total of $100 for 4 hours driving and the use of a good car for 4 days.

He was all happy about it. So he picks me up and he is happy to see me and tells me he has this new AA sponsee, (I know, he doesn't drink but he's high on drugs but he thinks he's whateverthehell). Anyway, he tells me he took this guy to meetings all over town with the car and to church and everything and then he hands me a gas receipt for $40 and wants me to pay for it! Bloody Hell!

I had filled up the car with gas right before we left. It would take less than 2/3'd of a tank to go across the state twice with my car and this shitforbrains wants me to pay his $40 gas ticket for running all over town!

So I said "NO" and he started speeding and got lost and I started getting scared of the way he was driving so I gave him $10 and put the GPS on to get us back on track but he is still mad at me.

I am the idiot who never learns with this guy or with his roommate. They used to beg me for money all the time and I would give in and they would pay me back but then 3 days later they would borrow again. So I finally told them that I told my doctor what they were doing and that he told me never to lend them money anymore so they quit that.

Dealing with addicts is crazy making. I'm still pissed. And I know that they are sick and don't see reality and quite frankly as I am writing this I realize how fucking crazy I am for still being friends with them and for letting this guy drive me, (although it was in the morning and he is not high in the mornings or every day, he is a binge pill shooter). But still he could have been on a binge and I put my life in his hands all because I was afraid to drive myself across the state. I was in panic mode right before I was to leave on vacation. I'm afraid to fly and I'm afraid to drive anywhere over in the Miami area.

Thanks for letting me rant. I know I'm nuts. I had the most wonderful time on vacation though. I met my cousin there. She came in from Ohio. We snorkeled with huge Manta Rays and got an upgrade because our room's air conditioner was broken so we ended up being able to look out our VILLA into a lagoon with Sing Rays lazily swimming around. I ate lobster for the first time in years and it was the biggest lobster tail I have ever seen and it was grilled and I could eat 3 more right now.

I feel much better. Thanks!

How Mitt Romney invested Millions in Outsourcing.

This is from July but it bears repeating, especially with things that have come to light lately.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/frederickallen/2012/07/12/how-mitt-romney-invested-millions-in-outsourcing/

"David Corn of Mother Jones reports that “according to government documents . . . Romney, when he was in charge of Bain [Capital], invested heavily in a Chinese manufacturing company that depended on US outsourcing for its profits—and that explicitly stated that such outsourcing was crucial to its success.”

This didn’t happen after 1999, when Mitt Romney says he left Bain Capital to run the Salt Lake City Olympics (Corn was one of the first reporters to raise questions, now gaining wide exposure, of whether Romney really left Bain then), but the year before. On April 17, 1998, Brookside Capital Partners Fund, a Bain Capital affiliate of which Romney was the sole shareholder, sole director, president, and chief executive, invested an estimated $14.2 million in Global-Tech, an appliance maker in Dongguan, China. Global-Tech made products for American companies like Sunbeam, Hamilton Beach, Mr. Coffee, and Proctor-Silex. In September 1998 Global-Tech’s CEO announced that the company was postponing a factory expansion because Sunbeam was slowing its rate of outsourcing, and said, “Although it appears that customers such as Sunbeam are not outsourcing their manufacturing as quickly as we had anticipated, we still believe that the long-term trend toward outsourcing will continue.”

This previously unreported deal runs counter to Romney’s tough talk on the campaign trail regarding China. “We will not let China continue to steal jobs from the United States of America,” Romney declared in February. But with this investment, Romney sought to make money off a foreign company that banked on American firms outsourcing manufacturing overseas.

Is there a way to read Mother Jones online without getting a subscription?

The page always comes up with a subscription page blocking it and I cannot get it to go away. I'm to the point that I won't even look at Mother Jones anymore.

Why don't they just advertise like the rest of the fucking internet?

How do I find out what my passcode is for my friend to use my wifi on CISCO?

All I can find is an internet security key. She is staying here from Sunday on to watch my dogs and I have to leave her the passcode. Century Link has been no help so far. They keep saying to log off and when I log on it will ask me for my passcode but it always just logs me back on.

It that all she needs?

Thanks!

For all you praying people or visualizers or ones who send out positive energy.

I think it is 100% OK for us to pray, send energy, visualize, whatever your thing is, to re-elect President Obama. For one thing it will save lives. Mitt Romney will take away health care for 10's of millions of people, including children and many will die if he is elected. I also believe he will start another unnecessary war with Iran which mean more deaths. And the poverty, pollution and misery that will happen when he gives more tax cuts to the wealthy, cuts regulations, Medicare and all sort of entitlement programs is frightening.

For this reason I believe it is right for people who believe in spiritual energy to use that spiritual energy to help our country.

Whatever you do. However you do it. I don't think it matters. All that matters is that you have good intentions.

This is my advise for President Obama for taking on whack job in the next debate

Casually accuse him of lying when he is, "Now you're lying again Mitt" and then school him on foreign policy since he is such and idiot. Talk to him like you are teaching him because he doesn't know. Because it's true, he doesn't know.

I bet that would make the guy blow a gasket.

WTF? Joe Scarborough is saying that the debate has changed the whole campaign and Democrats

are all disappointed and think the President is not qualified and crap like this. I don't see this.

Does anyone see this?

I want to hit this guy. I watched Fox news for about 1/2 hour yesterday when MSNBC went to its shit programming and they were saying the same thing but I expected it out of them.

Someone make me feel better please!

Alan Grayson needs our help. Remember he was always a great friend to us.

Apparently I spoke too soon and from wrong information. From others on this thread the information is he is doing very well.

I just gave to his campaign. Maybe someone else wants to too.

Alan Grayson is BACK -- and running strong in a new Democratic-leaning Florida congressional district. If he wins, it sure will be nice to have his voice representing Florida and all of us in Congress again!

Last cycle, PCCC members made over 215,000 calls for Grayson -- contacting key voters from our homes.

This coming Tuesday, we are honored to kick off our 2012 Call Out The Vote program by making calls for Alan Grayson!

(You can also donate $3 to fund Grayson's comeback! https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/graysonboldprogressives?refcode=e4-florida

Grayson is famous for his honesty. He said the Republican health care plan is "Don't get sick. If and you do get sick, die quickly."

Alan Grayson is also an effective, progressive fighter. He passed a bill into law to audit the Federal Reserve, which unearthed trillions in secret bailouts to the big banks.

Thousands of folks have made these calls before. We use special technology so you never get answering machines or busy signals. It's fun, it's easy, and Alan Grayson needs our help.

This link is for making calls. I don't know if you can do that from your home but I'll leave the link anyway.

I just watched an anti-Obama ad here in FL where they said Obama and Nancy Pelosi

and the Democrats would add $4,000 to the middle class in taxes and it was at American.com

I'm at American.com and can't find anything there that says anything of the sort. They have a long article that says Romney won't increase taxes on the middle class, (sort of because they say that Obama is not taking the great increase in the economy......I think) Here is the link.

http://american.com/archive/2012/october/the-romney-tax-plan-not-a-tax-hike-on-the-middle-class

Anyway it was the most blatant lie I have heard in a TV ad so far from the Romney camp. I guess he thinks he got away with them at the debates all bets are off for his campaign.
