Overheard In A Texas Foodbank Line

Whoopi Goldberg tells Trump: 'You're not going to run in 2024 if you're in jail, my friend'

Goldberg said New York Attorney General Letitia James is waiting for Trump.

“She is!” agreed former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin. “I would imagine his pardon power is not that exhaustive. What’s interesting to me once you pardon someone like Michael Flynn, that gives people immunity. Michael Flynn could decide to turn against Trump and testify against him. It’s not the best strategy.”

She went on to say she doesn’t think that Trump has fully thought it through. The other problem is that a pardon would mean that a person would admit their own guilt. With Flynn, he already pleaded guilty twice. So, Giuliani’s plea to Trump for a pardon would be another admission of guilt.

“He can try to pardon himself federally,” said Goldberg. “There are all these people waiting. Letitia James is waiting with her foot. She is patting that foot, waiting for him to take a step out. He keeps saying he’s going to run in 2024. You’re not going to run in 2024 if you’re in jail, my friend."

Whew, this lesson came swift.

GOP governor's Kristi Noem's Grandmother Died in Nursing Home Ravaged by COVID

On Monday, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem buried her grandmother, who was among 13 to die over a two-week period at a top-rated nursing home swept by COVID-19.

The 98-year-old grandmother, Aldys Arnold, is said by Noem’s office to have tested negative for the virus, though no cause of death was given. The other 12 of the 13 deaths between Nov. 14 and Nov. 28 at the Estelline Nursing Home are described by the administrator, Mike Ward, as “COVID-related.”

“All but one,” Ward told The Daily Beast.

But one less is still a dozen COVID deaths in a short period in one small facility. The number makes clear the lunacy of Noem’s downplaying of the pandemic and her continued refusal to impose a statewide mask mandate.

Rev. Barber: "We need to get back to 'normal,'" REALLY?

Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II

“We need to get back to ‘normal,’” really? “We need to get back to when we all were just getting along”? Now when was that? When really now? When did that ever happen in America?

This is why we can’t heal: There are some things you just can’t compromise on.

SAD: I just noticed that there was not even a single ornament on the Christmas Tree
