CNN, FOX, NBC et al, where are those tapes? Inquiring minds want to know.

How rich is this? The GOP is all upset that Obama is "politicizing the killing of bin Laden."

They will, of course, deny that they politicized 9/11 or terrorism. But they forget, we have the video tapes. And, if the cable "news" media fails to dig out those tapes and run them every time the Republicans bash Obama for succeeding where they failed, then we should get our hands on them and flood YouTube with them.

So let us demand those tapes. You and I know they exist, because we saw and heard them back in the day. So where are they now and why haven't producers dug the out to run every time Republicans charge Democrats with politicizing the war on terror and the killing of bin Laden? You gotta know that, had Bush II bagged bin Laden instead of Obama that would be right on the very top of the GOPs talking points right now, about how Obama is "weak on terrorists."

So, CNN, FOX, NBC et al, where are those tapes? Inquiring minds want to know.

Of course we already know that politicians can't be shamed. What we need to know now is which or any media outlets can or can't be shamed.

Wouldn't you love to find out? I would.

A billion LOLs - New GOP Bumper Sticker!

New Republican slogan, translated: 'Please forget about Bush'
byJed LewisonFollow

The Republican National Committee, in conjunction with Mitt Romney's campaign, on Thursday unveiled a new slogan ahead of President Obama’s official campaign kick-off in Ohio and Virginia this weekend: "Hype and Blame 2012."

The message plays off the hope and change mantra of Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and centers on what Republicans perceive as the president’s chronic inability to keep his promises.

“The candidate of hope and change has become the president of hype and blame,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus in a conference call with reporters. “He blames everyone and everything other than the man in the mirror. “*

...perhaps Arizonans ought to pay a little more attention to the problems caused by the white supremacists in their midst instead of fretting about brown people.

Pro-immigrant activist Dennis Gilman has done a chilling video based on the J.T. Ready-Russell Pearce connection, with some evil-sounding music from Dwar.f. Strap yourself into your seat before you watch it. It will creep you out, big time. I particularly like the snippet where someone is running beside Pearce asking him if J.T. is his friend. He says he was set up by New Times, and calls us "the great fiction." Sorry, Russ. No one stood beside you, held a Luger to your noggin and made you hang out with a neo-Nazi in June of '07. Nobody made you applaud him either.

America Does NOT Torture - EXCEPT - When It Does...

The 17-year-old boy was arrested for fighting on April 24, charged with disorderly conduct and placed in a holding cell, according to sources. The officer allegedly Tasered the boy up to nine times, sources said, for reasons that are still unclear. The juvenile was allegedly Tasered once in the head and may have been handcuffed, sources said.

Officials declined to confirm the identity of the officer who is under investigation. Deputy Chief Wendell Reed said that there is "somewhat of an investigation going on" and he's "been working on it for a minute."

"The investigation involves an officer involved with a juvenile, yes," Reed said. "The juvenile is fine, there is no issues, no problems. It's just more of a matter of procedure than it is the incident itself."

Colwyn Mayor Daniel Rutland seemed far more concerned about the matter:
"I can tell you right now suspensions are going to be coming," he said. "More than one will be coming."

1st Openly Gay Republican State Legislator In Country: Rep. Zachary Wyatt: "I am a proud gay man"

Missouri’s “don’t say gay in public schools” bill prompts Republican legislator to come out of the closet to oppose the bill. (That makes him the only openly gay Republican state legislator in the country, according to one advocacy group, which, wow, really?)

Rep. Zachary Wyatt: I am a proud gay man

Speaking in Hearing Room 5 at the State Capitol, Wyatt condemned what he called a “horrible bill” that would make illegal nearly all discussions on homosexuality in public schools, including conversations between students and school staff about their own sexuality.

Wyatt, who last week issued a statement addressing his concerns on the bill and related his experiences being bullied as a child, called on his fellow Republicans to join him in the fight against bullying and in removing HB2051 from consideration.

“Today I ask you to stand with me as a proud Republican, a proud veteran, and a proud gay man who wants to protect all kids, addressing bullying in our schools,” Wyatt said.

Romney-The Cowardly --- Silenced Gay Spokesman To Avoid Confronting Hate Groups, Misled Reporters

EXPOSED: Romney Campaign Silenced Gay Spokesman To Avoid Confronting Hate Groups, Misled Reporters

Some even called and questioned him afterwards as to why he was absent. He wasn’t absent. He was simply muzzled. For a job where you are supposed to maintain good relations with reporters, being silenced on a key conference call on your area of expertise is pretty damaging. Especially when you helped set it up.

Sources close to Grenell say that he was specifically told by those high up in the Romney campaign to stay silent on the call, even while he was on it. And this was not the only time he had been instructed to shut up.

The Times added information to Sullivan’s story, also noting that the call was the “biggest moment yet for Mitt Romney’s foreign policy team”:

It turned out Grenell was at home in Los Angeles, listening in, but stone silent and seething. A few minutes earlier, a senior Romney aide had delivered an unexpected directive, according to several people involved in the call.

“Ric,” said Alex Wong, a policy aide, “the campaign has requested that you not speak on this call.” Mr. Wong added, “It’s best to lay low for now.”

It’s no wonder Grenell felt the need to resign from the campaign. The newly revealed information only bolsters his reasons: the campaign was clearly seeking to mislead the media to downplay Grenell’s departure. “It’s not that the campaign cared whether Ric Grenell was gay,” an anonymous “Republican told the Times. “They believed this was a nonissue. But they didn’t want to confront the religious right.” If Romney campaign can’t stand up to a bigoted special interest on personell issues — for what they clearly thought was the best man for the job — how could a Romney administration be expected to make the politically tough decisions needed to successfully govern the country?

On the day Pearce's racist pal kills 4, the AZ legislature votes to give him $261K

........Before he became the face of the National Socialist Movement in Arizona, Ready was a former precinct committeeman and failed candidate for the Mesa City Council. In that 2006 race he was endorsed by Senator Russell Pearce, a crazy-uncle lunatic we used to think of as just that, but by 2006 the mean-spirited old fart was consolidating his grip on the gonads of the religious tea party buttholes who now dominate state politics about 2:1.

Pearce is running for a Senate seat again, while he blaths his nativist blather on the Ban Amnesty Now radio program. How is that possible? And it might help old Russ even more to have a few extra coins in his war chest, so yesterday a legislative committee added an amendment to SB 1449, the same bill that creates more recall hurdles, that will allow the disgraced but shameless Senator to collect the $261,000 he spent on his losing recall election. Not that it was his money or anything.

An Arizona legislative committee on Wednesday passed an amendment that sets up a framework for recalled Sen. Russell Pearce to seek repayment for costs incurred during the recall election. If Pearce requests the money, it could lead to the state writing a check for about $261,000 directly to the former Mesa lawmaker. Arizona Republic

There was no public hearing on the amendment, which was written about 90 minutes before the committee met. There was not even a public explanation of the amendment, so that we mere members of the public would know what the darn thing says. It was perhaps the most arrogant display I've seen at the Legislature and that is sayiing something. azcentral.com

Gareth Porter: None of the official line on bin Laden is true

A few days after US Navy Seals killed Osama bin Laden in a raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan, a "senior intelligence official" briefing reporters on the materials seized from bin Laden's compound said the materials revealed that bin Laden had, "continued to direct even tactical details of the group's management." Bin Laden was, "not just a strategic thinker for the group," said the official. "He was active in operational planning and in driving tactical decisions." The official called the bin Laden compound, "an active command and control center."

The senior intelligence official triumphantly called the discovery of bin Laden's hideout, "the greatest intelligence success perhaps of a generation," and administration officials could not resist leaking to reporters that a key element in that success was that the CIA interrogators had gotten the name of bin Laden's trusted courier from al-Qaeda detainees at Guantanamo. CIA Director Leon Panetta was quite willing to leave the implication that some of the information had been obtained from detainees by "enhanced interrogation techniques."

Such was the official line at the time. But none of it was true. It is now clear that CIA officials were blatantly misrepresenting both bin Laden's role in al-Qaeda when he was killed and how the agency came to focus on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

In fact, during his six years in Abbottabad, bin Laden was not the functioning head of al-Qaeda at all, but an isolated figurehead who had become irrelevant to the actual operations of the organization. The real story, told here for the first time, is that bin Laden was in the compound in Abbottabad because he had been forced into exile by the al-Qaeda leadership.

REMEMBER & REPEAT: America doesn’t have a right-wing domestic terrorist problem.

Collateral Damage
By Zandar May 3rd, 2012

Remember, America doesn’t have a right-wing domestic terrorist problem. We have a long string of completely unrelated “mass shooting” events where gunmen declare that various minority groups or random bystanders are the enemy and kill a bunch of them seemingly out of the blue in an attempt to strike fear into the hearts of millions and/or to force political change through bloodshed, but since these folks are FOX News viewers, it’s just “unfortunate” when this happens every couple of months or so.

Meanwhile, the real terrorists are the New Black Panther Party because OOGA BOOGA BLOOGITY BLACK. Cue the scary chyron, folks.

Longtime white supremacist and border vigilante JT Ready saw himself as part of a war that few others would fight. He amassed weapons. He donned a uniform. He formed his own brigade of volunteers to walk alongside him as he hunted what he described as “narco terrorists” flowing across the Arizona-Mexico border.

On Wednesday, reports out of Arizona said Ready died, not at the hands of drug runners, but with his own gun during a mad rampage inside a suburban home just east of Phoenix. Along the way, the reports said, he took the lives of four other people, including a toddler.

The Arizona Republic reported the victims were Ready’s girlfriend, her daughter, the daughter’s boyfriend and the daughter’s 18-month-old baby. Ready still somehow managed to use the event to blame immigrants even after his death. A posting on his Facebook page appeared hours after the massacre took place.

“Reports are unconfirmed that a cartel assassination squad murdered JT Ready and several of his friends and family this afternoon in Gilbert Arizona,” the posting said. “This page’s admin will keep you updated of the situation as soon as possible.” http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/05/jt_ready_arizona_massacre_border.php

UPDATE And let’s be clear here, this asshole apparently had a plan that consisted of
A) kill his family
B) then kill himself in order to
C) make it look like The Great Brown Horde offed him so
D) he’d be some sort of white supremacist martyr and his angry nutjob buddies would
E) then start a race war in Arizona.

He’s not just a terrorist, he’s a complete “New branches of mathematics are necessary in order to sufficiently quantify how evil this asshole is” type of terrorist.
