Former SC executive, Lindsey Graham supporter backs Democrat Jaime Harrison in Senate race

COLUMBIA ó A former top South Carolina business executive and supporter of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham has decided to back the Republican incumbentís Democratic challenger in his 2020 re-election race.

Richard Wilkerson, the former chairman and president of Michelinís Greenville-based North America operations, said he chose to endorse Democrat Jaime Harrison because of his experience working with him while Harrison lobbied on the companyís behalf in Washington, D.C.

....................

Michelin is one of South Carolinaís largest companies, employing almost 10,000 people in the state.

ďI am confident that as our next U.S. Senator, he will be a tireless advocate for creating well-paying jobs, improving our stateís health care system, and training the next generation for the jobs of tomorrow,Ē Wilkerson said. ďJaime is the perfect candidate to bring together South Carolinians from all walks of life.Ē

During Grahamís brief run for president in 2015, Wilkerson was listed as a member of the campaignís South Carolina finance committee, a group of more than 100 top business and community leaders from around the state.

While we were watching Trump-Who Makes Life-Or-Death Supply Decisions For Your State? Jared Kushner?

Congress doesn't know who makes the final life or death decision about which states get critical pandemic supplies. But Jared Kushner and his hedge fund cronies are working on it in the White House with ZERO oversight.

Letter from Energy & Commerce Committee Oversight and Investigations subcommittee to HHS head Alex Azar and FEMA head Peter Gaynor on April 20th. They need to deliver this info to Congress by April 27th, to the public by May 4th.

I read a letter yesterday that made my face go numb. Congress doesn't know where critical pandemic supplies are going, what the criteria are for sending them, what gets sent to which states and who makes the final life or death decision about the supplies.

IMPORTANT: Fair Elections During a Crisis

A key factor in preserving 2020 election legitimacy - explaining the process. The winner will likely not be known on election night due to the time required to carefully count mail ballots. Important for media to prepare and to explain to the public:

Advice from a friend - difficult but true

As governors are trying to figure out how to ease back in to a new normal, please remember:

🛑 Some people donít agree with the state opening.... thatís okay. Be kind.

🏡 Some people are still planning to stay home.... thatís okay. Be kind.

🦠 Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening....thatís okay. Be kind.

💰 Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may not lose their business or their homes....thatís okay. Be kind.

👩🏾‍⚕️Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....thatís okay. Be kind.

📝 Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....thatís okay. Be kind.

😷 Some will wear masks for weeks....thatís okay. Be kind.

💅🏻 Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... thatís okay. Be kind.

❤️ The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and thatís okay. Be kind.

We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind.

Please be kind....

If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind!

Donít judge fellow humans because youíre not in their story. We all are in different mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind.

(kp: i consider myself a liberal, i try to have an open mind. It is SO very difficult to remember kindness in these difficult times. My friend is right to remind me. I need to be reminded of this A LOT)

Cuomo wishes he "blew the bugle" sooner on coronavirus

ďI wish someone stood up and blew the bugle. And if no one was going to blow the bugle, I would feel much better if I was a bugle blower last December and January. Ö I would feel better sitting here today saying, ĎI blew the bugle about Wuhan province in January.í I canít say that.Ē

We try to listen to Gov Cuomo everyday.
-humility is one reason, empathy is another
We also listen to the West Coast Governors, Inslee, Brown, Newsome

Michelle Obama: "Empathy is our lifeline here. It's what will get us to the other side"

Obama added that the memories and "sense of connection" from her travels feel more poignant than ever during the coronavirus quarantine, with families caring for loved ones and their communities through scary times.

"Itís hard these days to feel grounded or hopeful, but I hope that like me, youíll find joy and a bit of respite" in the documentary, she said. "As many of you know, Iím a hugger. My whole life, Iíve seen it as the most natural and equalizing gesture one human can make toward another Ė the easiest way of saying, 'Iím here for you.' And this is one of the toughest parts of our new reality: Things that once felt simple Ė going to see a friend, sitting with someone who is hurting, embracing someone new Ė are now not simple at all.

She added: "But Iím here for you. And I know you are here for one another. Even as we can no longer safely gather or feed off the energy of groups, even as many of us are living with grief, loneliness, and fear, we need to stay open and able to put ourselves in other peopleís shoes. Empathy is our lifeline here. Itís what will get us to the other side. Letís use it to redirect our attention toward what matters most, reconsider our priorities, and find ways to better remake the world in the image of our hopes."
