STUNNER: 1/4 of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions Come From Fossil Fuels Mined & Drilled On Public Lands

Stunner: One Quarter of Total U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions Come From Fossil Fuels Mined and Drilled on Public Lands

By Public Lands Team on Feb 26, 2012 at 9:38 am
By Jessica Goad

A new report by Stratus Consulting and commissioned by The Wilderness Society released this morning shows that 23 percent of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions come from oil, gas, and coal extracted from federal lands and waters. As the report states:

In 2009, the most recent year for which total U.S. GHG emissions data are available, the ultimate downstream GHG emissions from fossil fuel extraction from federal lands and waters by private leaseholders could have accounted for approximately 23% of total U.S. GHG emissions and 27% of all energy-related GHG emissions.

The study was commissioned because of deficiencies in the White House Council on Environmental Quality’s first-ever “Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory for the Federal Government” report released in April 2011. Under Executive Order 13514, all federal agencies were required to “report and reduce greenhouse gas pollution,” which included items such as energy use, fuel consumed by government fleets, and methane generated by landfill waste.

Mr. Rick Goes to the Doctor

"Rick, I wish I could just write the prescription and let you go about your day, but I can't. It used to be that way with these erectile dysfunction treatments, but no longer. You see, a few months ago a group, Christian Women for Sanity and Sanctity, launched a full frontal attack on ED drugs claiming they not only led to what they called libertine behavior but also encourages rape."

"Okay, now this one in which you attest that you are not a virgin."

Santorum's jaw drops. "I've fathered enough kids to form my own soccer team," Santorum said. "How the dickens could I be a virgin?"

"The law Rick, the law. They said they wanted to prevent amateurs from getting their hands on such high caliber ammo."

John BOLTON Dodges Question From Vet & Insults Him-Fox Edits Out Booing & Replaces It With Applause

FOX edits, fakes applause for John Bolton pro-war statement

Bolton dodges question from anti-war veteran about blowback, insults him; Fox edits out the audience booing and replaces with it applause.

The 2-minute video is a public meeting of former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton responding to a US war veteran’s question. The video shows that FOX then edits-out the audience response to replace it with applause from a different person’s question. The proof is that the applause-segment shows a different person walking away from the microphone than the person who asked the question. The veteran testified that the audience booed Mr. Bolton’s answer.

Banker Leaves 1% Tip On $133 Lunch Bill In Defiance of 'The 99%'

In posting the photo, the employee gave some background on his boss and the receipt:

Mention the “99%” in my boss’ presence and feel his wrath. So proudly does he wear his 1% badge of honor that he tips exactly 1% every time he feels the server doesn’t sufficiently bow down to his Holiness. Oh, and he always makes sure to include a “tip” of his own.
The "tip" of his own in this case was to tell the server to "get a real job." Pleasant.

Chair of Senate Health Committee Is VP Of An Ultrasound Equipment Company

Can you say "conflict of interest," Greg Reed? An alert contributor to the "Alabama Voters Opposed to Forced Ultrasound" Facebook group pointed out that the chair of the Senate committee in charge of this legislation is a vice president at Preferred Medical Systems.

Since 2001, Preferred Medical Systems has had one mission: To provide a complete ultrasound solution for our customers. We are the exclusive authorized distributor of SAMSUNG MEDISON Ultrasound products in the southeastern United States.“Additionally we are one of the nation’s leading sellers of pre-owned ultrasound equipment for all major brands.”

Here's the information on the contact us page:

Greg Reed - Ext. 27
Vice President
Cell: 205.388.1793
Fax: 205.295.1554

So, let me get this straight.... the party that ran against "double dipping" by state employees has no problem with the chair of a committee overseeing legislation that directly benefits his business?

REPUBLICANS: "My God, what (an effing) mess---A loss is what the GOP's political class NOW expects."

The Lost Party
The strangest primary season in memory reveals a GOP that’s tearing itself apart.

By John Heilemann

John Heilemann notes many Republicans "are already looking past 2012. If either Romney or Santorum gains the nomination and then falls before Obama, flubbing an election that just months ago seemed eminently winnable, it will unleash a GOP apocalypse on November 7 -- followed by an epic struggle between the regulars and red-hots to refashion the party. And make no mistake: A loss is what the GOP's political class now expects."

Said GOP strategist Ed Rollins: "Six months before this thing got going, every Republican I know was saying, 'We're gonna win, we're gonna beat Obama.' Now even those who've endorsed Romney say, "My God, what (an effing) mess."'

Santorum comes from behind in Alabama three-way

Santorum comes from behind in Alabama three-way

With Alabama’s March 13 primary looking more and more important, Rick Santorum leads the rest of the Republican field in a poll conducted by Alabama State University. Santorum leads with 28 percent of likely GOP primary voters, while Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney trail with 18.9 percent and 18.3 percent, respectively. Texas Congressman Ron Paul was not included in the poll except for a choice for “other.”
