Recovery can begin.

We can heal.

I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused Ė and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA. Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good...

...fight, and I believe we will prevail! Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.

Just now CNN
News: The GSA has informed president-elect Joe Biden the administration is ready to begin the formal transition process, according to a letter administrator Emily Murphy sent Monday afternoon and obtained by CNN. (Via @KristenhCNN)

Quite a line from Lamar Alexander

What! No evangelicals? No pillow entrepreneurs?

The new conspiracy theory is a whopper

Sidney Powell is a double agent. The Dems planted her on the Trump legal team.

Trump's Sound & Fury Will Signify Nothing-He's just a bully, after all. They get thumped in the end.

At the end of the day, Trump at his core is who Trump has always been ó a vaudevillian bully. His history is also chock-full of examples of people and institutions that not only stood up to him but also batted him back after he puffed his chest and swung his fists.

There are more examples of the bully being thumped, just as there are myriad examples of Trump manipulating institutions and making end runs around the law. At the end of the day, however, Trump didnít make the media crumble, the courts acquiesce, law enforcement look away or Democrats succumb. He has inflicted long-term damage on public trust and leadership, visibly rendered in the nationís failed response to the Covid-19 pandemic, but he hasnít managed to fashion a throne for himself despite his fascination with dictators, propaganda and blunt force.

The endgame that is afoot wonít conclude well for Trump.
The flotilla of ridiculous lawsuits he and his cohorts have filed claiming voting fraud have been beaten back so steadily and consistently that Team Trump was forced to change tactics. Theyíre now openly pushing for a coup by seeking interventions from Republican-led state legislatures to simply overturn the popular vote and Bidenís victory. But ballot counting in the presidential election hasnít been delayed, no ballots that were counted were subsequently tossed out, and no court has yet to postpone any stateís certification of the results.

The Rest:

No, You Do Not Have to Feel the Trump Voter's Pain

There is no reason, after five and half years of untruths, dog-whistles, slurs and conspiracies, and weeks of Trump trying to undermine Bidenís win, to hug the people who want to disenfranchise you

Of course, it is part of the ethos of liberal newspapers to offer a broad spectrum of views on its opinion pages. Iím proud to do that myself, whether my good faith is accepted or not.

But it is not a requirement to adopt a quantitative ratio for pro-Trump views when the right-wing media ecosystem is so huge, and it is vanishingly rare for liberals and leftists to appear in their prime editorial real estate. Itís not like Fox News or the Federalist have published an op-ed by Kamala Harris.

There is no shame for liberal newspapers to foreground the arguments that relate to their center and left politics. There is no shame when a newspaper endorses a candidate, and that candidate wins, to celebrate the win without offering participation trophies to the losing side, and to enjoy success for the few nanoseconds before the left resumes cannibalizing itself.

Republicans: Calculating, not Cowards

The sense that the GOP only puts up with Trump out of fear masks the much scarier reality of who they are and what they are capable of doing.

ďCowards want to to do the right thing but are too afraid to do it. I do not believe the Republicans want to do the right thing and I do not believe they are concerned about the damage Trump is doing to our democracy. Ultimately what bothers them about Trump is not that he is a racist authoritarian. Itís that he is a clumsy, incompetent racist authoritarian. The Republican supplication to Trumpís whims ó before and after the election ó is not cowardice, itís calculation.Ē
