It's called Diplomacy

Something the GOP does not know anything about.

Obama was asking Medved to get word to the Russians to give him some time.

D-I-P-L-O-M-A-C-Y.

Romney would have already started another war if he were President. That is the key difference in foreign relations between Democrats and Republicans.

Hot mike moment: Obama overheard telling Medvedev he needs 'space' on missile defense

By NBC News' Shawna Thomas
SEOUL, South Korea -- It was a comment not intended for public consumption, and another lesson for President Barack Obama on the importance of being careful about what you say around microphones, especially in an election year.

At the end of a 90-minute meeting between Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday, journalists rushed in to hear remarks from the leaders about the content of their talks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Journalists spied the two leaders leaning close together and talking in hushed tones. According to those in the room, the conversation was difficult to hear but the videotape revealed Obama asking the Russian leader to wait until after the November election before pushing forward on the topic of a planned missile defense shield.
Obama: This is my last election…After my election I have more flexibility.

Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

While most journalists didn't catch the rest, one Russian reporter managed to record the context with his equipment.

Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it's important for him to give me space.

Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you...

Obama: This is my last election…After my election I have more flexibility.

Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

This looks like something the "liberal" media will blow out of proportion and make it sould like Obama is giving away the store.

Tsunami-tossed boat spotted off western Canada

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — A large fishing vessel swept away by the tsunami that devastated Japan last year has been spotted adrift off British Columbia in western Canada.

Jeff Olsson of Victoria's Joint rescue coordination center says an airplane contracted by the government spotted the 50-foot-long (15-meter-long) vessel recently about 160 miles (260 kilometers) west of Haida Gwaii, slowly drifting toward shore.

The vessel has been identified as coming from Hokkaido, Japan. Olsson says no one is believed to be aboard and there's no environmental danger.

Etch-A-Sketch moment could haunt Mitt Romney in the fall

Mitt Romney had hoped to avoid dealing with the Etch-A-Sketch question at his only public event Wednesday afternoon, a town hall meeting in Maryland.

But, about half an hour after Romney pointedly told a reporter along the ropeline that he would not be taking questions, reporters were summoned for a quick Q&A.

There was only one "Q," and the candidate knew what it would be.

But the real potential damage is beyond the primary fight. Democrats have long been working to paint Romney as a candidate without a core, hammering every perceived inconsistency and working to ensure that every position he took in the primary fight to endear himself with conservatives would be held against him in the general election.

Swiftboat financier gives $3 Million to Romney SuperPAC

A reclusive Texas homebuilder who helped finance the “Swift Boat Veterans” attacks against Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004 contributed nearly half of the $6.4 million raised by a super PAC backing Mitt Romney last month.

Bob Perry, owner of the Houston-area custom homebuilder Perry Homes and a longtime backer of conservative causes, gave $3 million last month to the pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future, according to a report filed Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission.

Perry has been a prolific donor to Republican candidates and causes this election cycle, having previously given $1 million to the same pro-Romney super PAC, as well as $100,000 to a super PAC that backed Texas Gov. Rick Perry and $2.5 million to American Crossroads, the Republican super PAC founded by Karl Rove.

Ryan budget plan puts GOP candidates in tight spot

New GOP budget puts presidential candidates on the spot

The release of the new Republican budget on Tuesday puts their party’s presidential hopefuls in a potentially difficult spot, forcing them to embrace or reject proposals that have little chance of becoming law, but could carry some political risk.

Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis, was slated to release his second official budget as the chairman of the committee overseeing fiscal matters; the plan was expected to contain proposals for sweeping reforms to entitlement programs, along with other cuts in spending.

That means, for a second year straight, the field of GOP candidates should expect questions about their positions on the plan, which could prove problematic to their own campaigns.

She added, “I would just be honest when it comes to the stickier parts. Maybe you don't agree with the whole solution, but you agree it has to be addressed."
