Did anyone else receive a letter from SS about his/her account?

Mine requested I update/verify my information, which I did willingly.
It also provided an Account Activation Code

It asked me to finish setting up my online account or upgrade it
I went about setting up my online account again (which had already been created) just to ensure the info was correct

When I clicked on the various fields (e,g, what my SS# is) I saw that there were garbage characters

Same for my birth date
And some of the other fields (email, for instance)

I can't help thinking that this misinformation was perpetrated by THEM in order to confuse me.

I was given a gift subscription to YouTube...

and lately, when I log into my accoubt, I get all sorts of videos from sensational news organizations. Is there a way to block those? I thought it I accessed the three vertical dots, that it would give me the option of ignoring them, but it doesn't. There must be a way I can get rid of them. I hope.
