I've been a female working a "man's job" (mechanical engineer), stay at home Mom (6 kids), working Mom (6 kids to put through college), unemployed, underemployed, temporarily employed and now working from home! We live on an old, small farm with 2 dogs and 2 cats in the house, variable number of chickens out in the yard.

So , this doctor was being interviewed on the radio about his new book,

and he makes the comment that half the people that come to see a doctor have nothing physically wrong with them, that the pain or digestive distress etc is caused by something wrong in their personal lives. And of course, this is why more women than men turn up at a doctor's office.

What's with these guys who think if they can't figure out what's going on, it means nothing is happening? It's the same kind of willlful ignorance that once taught that the appendix and tonsils were useless organs!

It pays to educate yourself about your illness and self care -

Last night I woke up with pain in my mouth. I realized it was from a newly blocked salivary gland and gave that gland gentle massage along the chin line. Success! I was awarded with a gush of saliva and immediate end to the pain !

It's that time of year again - when the dogs have to learn that the door to the covered

porch is closed because the furnace is running. They sit or sleep on the porch all day during the summer in order to keep an eye out for bad squirrels or bad deer!
