"Joy cometh in the morning"

President Biden to the congregation at a largely black church in PA this morning. His words, indeed his whole speech, was greeted with loud cheers FROM THE PEOPLE. Those words brought tears to my eyes. Even this secular Christian who barely recognized this as a bible verse was moved. These were profound words of hope and the people in that church knew it.

Lately, I am borrowing some of the optimism and sound common sense of people in the black church and Civil Rights movement. I've been looking to them for wisdom and guidance.

From Reverend Al who advised last night that every Dem do their "black" job and vote, to the worshipper who shouted "You're a good man" to Biden during his speech to a black church in the south, I trust their judgement more than the beltway corporate media and more than some of the Democratic leaders. They understand the stakes. They've been through this before. They've suffered, but they know that the successes they've achieved only happened because they "kept their eyes on the prize."

They are trying to warn us about what is really important. They are trying to keep their spirits up. They are sending positive messages.

Whether you are religious or not, let's listen.

New appreciation for Reverand Al

Heard him just now give his closing comments on his show. He said that he had finally identified the "black job" that cheato referred to in the debate. The black job is to vote and save the rights that their forebearers have fought so hard for. He is trying to rally the black vote (good for him), but I think that's a universal message.

Let's all get out there and do our "job"! Oh, and I really appreciate the way he's not contributing to the "narrative", don't you?

The reason for the discord on DU

I think we are all afraid. We sense that very powerful forces far beyond our control are operating outside the bonds of accountability to force Joe Biden from the race. And while some of these forces, such as the "maga" movement, the Supreme Court, the Heritage Foundation, and billionaire donors are easy to identify and not particularly new, others are even more frightening.

By that, I mean virtually the entire beltway press, including the major newspapers and the "progressive" anchors on cable TV. Their owners want tax cuts, but to see a capitulation on this scale is unsettling to say the least. I, for one, am no longer interested in exploring the reasons for this or debating whether it is really happening. It is. If you can't see it, you never will.

I also mean this trickle of Dem politicians sending signals of various kinds that Joe should get out. If you're like me, this is the most frightening aspect of the situation. Since I don't know their motivations, I won't speculate. But to be honest, I don't care that much at this point. I just know that Joe Biden is fighting against all the powerful monied interests, the media, and now a growing segment of his own party. And I am afraid.

Will our fear turn to anger and action? I don't know the answer, but if it doesn't, we will regret it.

Fetterman is still riding with Biden!

I am glad that MSNBC has finally decided to interview someone who supports the incumbent President. Hope no one gets fired!

Julian Castro, STFU

I'm sorry, but do you really have to run onto MSNBC immediately after Joe's interview to say that he is in denial. Goes on to trash him. Folks, we are up against the media, lots of Dems who won't be team players, and billionaires. I'm getting pissed.

CNN is already trashing Biden's performance on their homepage

They have two negative headlines and Dr. Gupta their medical analyst is saying Biden needs a cognitive test. I am only posting this to warn you not to watch their analysis.

"Republicans have no principles. Democrats have no spine."

Allan Lichtman, Presidential Historian, just now on Deadline Whitehouse. He went on to say that R's are willing to stick with a candidate whose debate performance was much worse than Biden's. And Dems are running for the hills and throwing Biden to the wolves at the first sign of adversity. He warned that this is a big mistake.

MSNBC trending on twitter

for all the wrong reasons. People see the bias and the obsession with Biden "dropping out." First comment I saw was from BrooklynDadDefiant who really took them to the woodshed (along with CNN). He has more than a million followers. You are not alone if you feel like something is really wrong with even the "progressive" outlets.

Biden hitting it out of the park in Wisconsin

Opening with a hit on cheato saying that we won the Revolutionary War by taking the "airports" from the British. Then followed up with, talk about me misspeaking!

Voice sounds great. Crowd sounds "jacked". Keeping it simple, keeping it clear, keeping it confident.

Will the NYT call cheato out on his lie about Project 2025?

JUST KIDDING!!!!

And even if they do a drive by mention of it, it will be completely lost in all the anti-Biden front page stories. Disgraceful. His claim not to know the people responsible is easily proven and very consequential. But the corporate media will go along with it.
